  1. Has anyone come across a roof rack that is made for the GS? If not, anyone had success with a generic model? I can wrap up a snowboard or two and have them diagonal across the back seat to go up to the mountains if needed, but a mountain bike just won't work out. TIA.
  2. I haven't seen this on the site, but I have found it to be a great resource. I've had my '06 GS430 since new and have gone through a few cell phones, so to find out how integrated it can be with the car, I go to this site. It is also great to pass on to any friends or family with a new Lexus or a new cell phone! http://www.lexus.com/models/GS/accessories/bluetooth.html Link Note: The reason I was on it today is because I just got a new Android phone and I cannot find one listed on there, but there are applications to transfer contacts. Here is an example for the Apple 3GS along with the pdf guide: 551_03Navi.pdf
  3. Did you have any luck finding more information? From the web site I mentioned above, I chose my car and opened the "Other Functions" pdf to find what is below. I do not have my car with me right now to check this, but I hope it helps. other_functions.pdf
  4. Have you tried checking Lexus' Owner's site? https://secure.drivers.lexus.com/lexusdrivers/home
  5. Looks cool. It is good to see other companies coming out with product. Anyone have experience with it?
  6. I had seen this accessory on a few cars lately and finally decided I need one. It is a front license plate holder that screws in to your front tow point. This is ideal because I do not like the way almost any car looks with a front plate and I usually get no heat unless I am in Los Angeles. I've tried putting it in my front windshield and still received "No Front Plate" tickets mostly when my vehicle is parked and I am not around, in such places as LAX, Hollywood, Venice Beach.... All in L.A. County. I live in Orange County and have never gotten a ticket here. So I started searching for this piece to only find no one carried one for the GS430. I know it is a somewhat generic piece, but it is something that needed to be purchased online and I didn't want to deal with having to return it if the length wasn't correct or the threading/diameter was wrong. So I came across a company based in Canada called Rho-Plate who had one for the IS. I sent them an e-mail and received a prompt response asking for a few dimensions. Once I sent them the info needed, within a week I received the final product. I just installed it today and it is everything I expected. I could have made it a little more aesthetically pleasing by making it go more the angle with the bumper, but then it would not be as easily screwed on and off. Here are a few images: The product is not on http://rhoplate.com yet, but I'm sure it will be soon.

  8. ^ I agree. For this vehicle I wouldn't bother with a cold air intake or any bolt on performance part unless you are going to FI. I might be biased because I work in the FI industry for German vehicles and for the little gains a CAI gains, there is no point. As for a FI system, I don't think anyone makes one for this car right now, but Greddy showed one at SEMA a while back. No one will probably come out with one with the GS-F coming out soon. Added: Not to sound two-faced, but I do have a K&N filter in my GS430, not for performance purposes, just because I got it for the same price as an OEM replacement.
  9. I don't have instructions, but I did mine a couple months ago and it took less than 5 minutes without any instructions. I believe I took off part of the engine cover which required removal of a few pins. Then the air box was right there and there were like 3 or 4 clips to undo it. Just try it.
  10. So I unhooked my battery to reset my car for navigation reasons.... not relevant. Hence, now everything has been reset. All the windows now do not work automatically, so I held the button up for 5 seconds then down and now they work. The sunroof is a little more difficult, how the heck do you get it to go automatically now that everything has been reset?
  11. Same problem here - I get video but no sound. What do you get? And my CDs won't play sound either. But FM and AM work fine. What's the skinny with yours? It just won't read some of my DVDs, the ones that do work it plays fine, and it plays CDs fine also.
  12. This site has all the information on connecting different phones bluetooth to any Lexus. No iPhone on it yet, maybe they will update it soon though. http://www.lexus.com/models/LS/accessories/bluetooth.html
  13. Does it really only do playlists? I read that and it steered me away from getting it, just wanted to confirm that it's true.
  14. Very Nice!!!!! We should get a thread going of motorcycles with your Lexus'. Once I get some pics together of the both, I'll get it going, but if you got some, start it already!!!
  15. I have not figured out a way of transporting my mountain bike in my gs yet and I don't want to throw a hitch on. you figured anything out yet?
