  1. Hello.

I have electrical short, and i checked all the bulbs, but i couldn't find the problem.

a few days ago, i got a ticket from a state trooper stating that my license plate lights are off.

    1995 es300

there are two bulbs (right and left of the license plate) and both of them are bad.

from this, i suspect that a fuse is blown. However, i couldn't find "license plate fuse" on my owner's manual. Can anyone tell me where i need to look?

also, can anyone tell me how to change the license plate bulbs? (i tried to take the whole tail light, but i am sure there's a simpler way. thank you.

  2. before i can fix an electric short, i am hit by another problems.

when i use cruise control, it will work for 3 seconds, then it doesn't work anymore.

then cuise control light blinks 5 times (according to the manual, it means cruise control malfunction)

what can possibly go wrong with cruise control??

  3. you have two options.. install an aftermarket cd player OR add a cd changer to your car (ebay or www.car-parts.com)

if you install the aftermarket cd player, you will have to purchase a dash kit 24.99 (somewhere on internet..or your local best buy or sound shops will sell it to you for around 49.99)

you will have to bypass the stock amp (underneath the front passenger seat)

if you go with adding a cd changer, you just plug it back on the left side of the trunk.

if you want bass. upgrade your rear speakers to better 6x9 (only with aftermarket cd player radiosetup) or add an external amp + sub or one of those powered subs.

but remember 1 thing..stock radio unit will have to work with amp. if you keep stock headunit, you keep the amp. If you get aftermarket cd player, you must gut the amp.

  4. O2 sensor is something that goes bad on cars all the time..just like spark plugs.. it's actually in the general maintaince category.

if you call around, i am sure you can get a good deal on it..i say..60-80 bucks. (shouldn't take much at all)

your car will run..but your will really bad gasmileage..like 10-15 miles a gallon.

so earlier you do it, you will save money by putting less fuel into your car.

if this goes forever..like a few years or so..you will cause some engine problems.

  5. so aftermarket speakers are compatible with stock lexus amplifier..

what's the RMS on the stock oem lexus amplifier? and can i replace it with stronger amp and power my aftermarket speakers?

also..does anyone know the size of the speaker wires (gauge)? (if it's 16 gauge or thicker, it would save me a lot of time, b/c i wouldn't have to run new speaker wires.

    thankx.

  6. I am full of questions today, please help me out.

i figured out how to remove the whole stock radio & stock amp (under the passensger seat)

i know how to remove front/rear speakers ..

i am pretty sure i can remove the front squakers (or whatever they are called..in the dash) you just pop the grille, and pop out the speakers, right? (i need confirmation)

Can my aftermarket cdplayer work with stock speakers (if amp is not bypasses)?

    how to bypass the amp?

what's the size of the squakers?

should i do 3 way components in the front (using squaket space)?

somepeople said there isn't a harness, but i just bought one from ebay (does anyone familiar with this)?

can anyone give me wire colors for the radio?

what's the best way to route 4 gauge wires into the vehicle from the battery?

    thanks a bunch!
