  1. I have this problem on my 95 LS400 sometime the tach or odometer would not work. I just tap on the cluster instrument panel and it works.. someone told me that the cluster panel needs to be removed and cleaned the connectors.. I did and it wored for the whole year but now it is acting up again..

  2. Does anyone know how to initialize the sunroof for IS300?

I think mine needs to, because the tilt is open and close fine and when I open the sunroof it opens fine too but it goes to tilt position when I close it.

  3. I thought this is safety issue and they should have lifetime guarantee ???

I used to own an 99 Acura RL 3.5, the safety belt and the buckle gone bad so I brought the car to Acura dealership and they replaced them for free. The only thing they told me that does not have lifetime is the SRS computer unit.

  4. definetly new OEM shocks, you can buy them online and do the job yourself, its pretty straightforward. i got rear shocks for 70$ a piece and front ones for 50% a piece. all OEM toyota parts

May I ask which website you bought those at? Thanx.

  5. Some people says that they would run with regular gas, I tried with Plus 89 grade and the CEL came on so I don't even try anymore. Stick with Premium gas.
I run Premium, at least 89 but usually 91... but there is no technical reason the CEL light should come on with 89 octane. :)

Well I don't know what to say but the CEL did on my 95 LS400 a day later after I put 89 octane grade gas in my tank. I could have bad plugs but as long I use premium CEL never comes on.

  6. I'm not a mechanic but I've done it myself on my 01 IS300. You don't have to remove the bumper but You'll have to remove the radiator first to get to the condenser, the coolant reservoir and fans are attached to the radiator so just leave them on the radiator. Make sure you remove all the hoses that attached to the radiator and wires for the fans. You will loose all the freon for the air conditioning so good luck..

  7. Hello everybody,

This weekend my car acting up a little, the CEL came on while I was driving, so I decided to pour a can of Seafoam into my gas tank. Yesterday I took a little trip about 270 miles and so far the CEL has not come back on. I think it could be my plugs are old and time to replace them. Which plugs are the best to use.. Any suggestion is appreciated.

Are the plugs for the 95LS400 or the is300 ?Did you post in the wrong forum ? Or is your sig wrong ? Start over and amend this topic............:whistles:

They are for LS400. I also own an 2001 IS300 but I don't need plugs for IS300 yet.

Use only factory specified plugs, Stay away from aftermarket.

What about those that made by NGK platinum plugs, Can I use those??

  10. It's been a couple of years, but I did have the gold trim on the hood, as well as the "L" emblems replated by some guy in OK, I believe. Not sure if he's still around, but it only cost me 70 bucks or so. It's posted here somewhere. I also got a gold "LS400" emblem from a forum member who was parting out his car. 20 bucks. That's neat because 90-94 LS's didn't have the LS400 emblem-just L's. Car still looks great with 113,000 miles.

I'm still able to make money on the side to gold plate cars and other items. As long as it's metal, I can gold plate it in 24K(not paint). Did my LS years ago and the emblems are still great after being exposed to 4 seasons for 3 years.

John, How much you charge to re-do my grill emblem for the 95?

  11. Never heard that one before but it sounds like there probably is a fault in the alarm system. You can reset the ECU system by disconnecting the negative (black) wire from the battery for about 10 minutes and then reconnect. If that doesn't work try a new battery in the remote key fob.

Tried what you said didn't work at all so I decided to replace the turn signal flasher relay myself and that fixed it, the relay cost about $52.

The remote key seems to be working fine. But I will try by disconnecting the car battery. Thanx.

  13. Hello,

My wife 2001 IS300 is going nuts. This afternoon she called and said that the emergency lights on her IS300 is blinking by themselves and she could not turn it off with the switch. I thought maybe the alarm system is activated so I told her to unlock and lock the car but won't help. So I told her to turn on the car and the emergency lights went off but as soon as she turns the ignition key off and the emergency lights are blinking again, it is weird but the switch seems to be working fine when the ignition switch is turned on she could turn the emergency lights on and off, but ther switch would not respond when the ignition key if off.

Does anyone have any idea what is going on?? Could be the blinker is bad??
