  1. 3 day weekend, i wish.. I am at work already working just like any other day 8 to 5... Saturday night... theres a car story for you guys on here... I wanted to just hang out at a friends house and watch a movie and have a few beers, you know those nights.. so 2 of my other friends come by telling us they are going to a night club, so they try persuading us to go, after about 10 minutes it became a big circle around me, if Ben goes ill go, if vlad goes ill go... so i ended up saying yes after maybe 30 minutes of threats... my friend who drives a 95 S320 Mercedes says that he will drive because its a 45 minute drive, we get on the highway after about 200 feet of the highway on-ramp i hear a loud BOOM! im sitting in the back behind the driver seat so i look out infront of me through the front windshield and all i see is BLACK, i thought i went blind some how or something, after a short minute i realized the hood had flown up, we tried keeping the driver calm to not get hit by oncoming traffic and we got over to the shoulder. We sat and thought about something to do so we had Mercedes roadside on their way while we tried to break the hinges so the hood would close we had another friend come there and he had a hammer so we started to just beat on the hinges so that the hood would somewhat close, we got it down as much as we could and we strapped it down called mercedes and cancelled the tow and drove the car back home doing 30 MPH on the highway til the next exit. SCARIEST EXPERIENCE EVER!!
  2. Oh yah my 3rd brake light was tight like no other!!... Those are some very niice 6x9's i bought some that LOOK pretty "cool" and have a little bit of a kick with them.. 150 watts max.. 50 RMS... I had a fun night last night and woke up this morning and finished it all up..
  3. Thanks alot man!, i could not actually do it by pur hand strength though... i had to take some kind of wire and put it behind it and put all of my force into it for it to release but i did get it, i put in my new 6x9's and tomorrow im gonna perfect it and clean it out, i didnt wanna waste my saturday night doing it all so i left my back seat out.
  4. QUESTION!!! I have a 95 es300... i CANNOT figure out how to remove this damn 3rd brake light!!! help me out please... that rear panel looks much different then my 95?..
  5. After about 2 hours of trying to figure out how to remove the rear speakers i got to a computer to search you guys. This thread helps alot!! THANK YOU!!! Should have came here much sooner.... :chairshot:
  6. Thats what i want to do, just gotta start looking, find a good price and do it... i already opened up my headlights once before i can do it again it wasnt to big of a problem, kinda fun actually!!
  7. I found a picture of an original 1995 es300 tail light for you guys to compare mine to...
  8. Alright guys, i totally forgot about taking pictures of my original tail lights before the mod, but im guessing you guys know what they look like with the amber in the middle...
  9. Check back here within the next few hours for pix of my tail-lights, im actually at work til 5. I was looking forward to hearing some feedback from people on how this little mod looks. I actually learned about the baking of lights on cars a long time ago i just never saw myself trying it out until not to long ago. I was unsure about what to do when i removed the lights from the car so i opened up google and just looked up headlight baking and it gave me a few forum links and i just followed the instructions someone left to removing the amber from a Subaru WRX. My moms got a RX300 sounds like im gonna have to try that out once i have some time.
  10. I'm assuming no one liked my post or found it useless?
  11. purpose it serves is just an appearance mod, in other words it serves no purpose but its just for looks. Directions: 1. Remove headlights or tailights from car, for headlights its only 3 bolts that hold it in place, for the taillights you must remoe the bolts from underneath the carpetting inside the trunk 4 or 5 bolts on each taillights. They should just slide out. 2. There is one screw on the outer side of each headlight to be removed. On the taillights the license plate lighting connector must be removed from each and just a few screws on each taillight removed before baking. 3. Preheat oven to 200.F, Place headlight or taillight on sheet of foil or cookie tray for about 15 to 17 minutes. (took me about 17). Remove from oven and pry it open remove the shiny glass from the headlight cover and remove the amber seperate insert inside the headlight cover. 4. Your almost done. For the tailights its the same process, Oven for about 17 minutes, pry it open remove the screw holding down the amber turn signal insert. and put it halfway back together or as much as possible. 5. After you push it back together as much as possible place it back in the oven for about 10 to 15 minutes. Remove from the oven and push it back together, place all the screws back in and your ready to put it back into your car. Mine is a 95 so im not sure about the other year lexus taillights. My 95 had white turn signals, the insert gave the singal the amber color so i went to my local auto parts shop and bought actual amber colored light bulbs. In my opinion it looks great. (Baking just means putting them in the oven to loosen the glue or windshield glue that hold the lights together)
  12. So guys this is a old thread but i had my car for about 3 months or so now its a 1995 Lexus ES300 and at first i didnt do much besides taking out my air filter because the car sounds so much meaner without it but i know it isnt good. My latest mod was done 2 days ago i put my headlights in my OVEN, yup i baked them, the finished product was alot better then i had expected.... stock.. Part removed... what it looks like now... after baking my headlights and seeing how much better it looked i decided to give my taillights a shot in the oven and boy was i impressed they look great.. sorry i havent gotten any pictures of those on my computer yet but ill get some of them soon, i just did them yesterday. let me know what you guys think of my headlights and then my tail lights once i get some pictures up!!
  13. Yeah, i have not heard of anyone using 50 weight. 5w 30 or 5w 20 do good. I also think its a huge waste to do the drain flush and refill, plus i dont think very many people could or would want to afford that so a drain and refill is good.... and just like mburnickas said remove the battery terminals or just the positive for about 15 minutes and you will be good.
  14. WOW... Now i bet that was a HARD one to let go of... its ok atleast we are talking about cars and not like computers or digital cameras, i know im still not over mine and it has been a year and it was not all that special. It was all thgat i asked for in a car from my dad, BMW, 5spd, rear wheel drive, and i had it for a whole 3 months, after that BMW i had a 97' Stratus, 96' VW Jetta, 97' GMC Safari, and now im up to the Lexus which i am definently not complaining about.
  15. Oh yeah i feel the pain of loosing that car every single day, i have the key to that car on a key ring along with my current car, the lexus... im hoping to be getting another one and hopefully ill have much better luck because i only had that car for about 3 months from august to november of last year so its been a year already.
  16. ouch what the fawk hit u...... Do you see that pink looking crap to the left of my car?.... That thing used to be a dodge neon.
  17. Ouch, yah i see what your saying. I live in Chicago we have about a foot of snow on the sidewalks so im definently waiting til after winter for the IS wheels and all the other stuff. I also dont want to do to many mods to this car because i really want to get what i used to have. I had an M42 it WAS sweet. (1992 318is 5spd). Doesnt have to be a 92 318. I would also like any year E36, as long as its the coupe not hatchback. (before)... ...(and obviously after) :cries:
  18. Sounds good, they look REALLY good on your ES300 justin. So i guess 215 /50 it is. I was reading somewhere else that i'll be needing 5mm spacers? Is that what you used on yours and with 5mm are they gonna be flush with the fenders and no rubbing? Another thing from the picture of yours it looks like i will be needing a set of lowering springs, do you know if that will do some harm to anything, because it looks like you didnt lower yours and i was wondering if there was a reason for you not lowering it?
  19. Do you guys know of anyone on these forums who is trying to get rid of their IS300 rims? I have been wanting to get the IS300 stock wheels from the 01-05 to put on my 95 ES300, and after the wheels i would see if it would need a drop which seems like it might, i would get some lowering springs. It would be greatly appreciated if you guys can find someone who is trying to get rid of them. :)
