Can I Disconnect The Head Unit And Hook Up A Low Line
Chase Croft replied to Micah's topic in 92 - 00 Lexus SC300 / SC400
when i say that it cant be done... thats the expert sound install guy at a local place near my house that has won tons of awards and this guy in particular used to own the car and is a lexus fanboy so i mean... i wouldnt take a whim trusting that it will work, just go into some shop and have them check it out, if u give them a good interest in one of their amps they will do it for free and let u kno -

1996 Sc 400 Sound System For Sale
Chase Croft replied to Chase Croft's topic in 92 - 00 Lexus SC300 / SC400
well i have like 3 other interests right now, mainly on the amp and one on the whole system one guy is buying it for 450$ plus shipping and im waiting to see if the others can beat it or even want to otherwise if the whole system thing doesn't work out then i can sell you everything but the amp but im not sure if a 96 would work on a 95, im pretty sure they do though, i think the 92-97 is 1st gen and 98-00 is 2nd gen, dont quote me though i think they are compatible because all the people who are wanting to buy from me have older then 96, so im assuming they know it is compatible, but yea the system works great, and let me know what EXACTLY you need from the system, i'm not sure if you are one of the 3 guys who emailed me about this, but let me know soon because its gonna get picked up by another buyer shortly -chase hes buying the amp only for 450$ + shipping btw, just to make that part clear NOTE: WHEN EMAILING ME PLEASE TELL ME UR USERNAME ON HERE SO I CAN DISTINGUISH YOU, THANKS -
Can I Disconnect The Head Unit And Hook Up A Low Line
Chase Croft replied to Micah's topic in 92 - 00 Lexus SC300 / SC400
nope dissapointinly enough, by replacing any piece of that sound system it all has to go because the nakamichi will not work with the other pieces i woulda kept my sound system because its an amazing stock one, but the ipod thing was an issue with me as well, hence the reason i posted a topic about me selling my system its either all stock or all after market hope that helps -
very in depth site, thankyou yet again
-
sweetness thankyou so much man :-) and if anyone can answer the exhaust question that would help as well, suggestions or a link to something you have on your car and you are happy with would be nice
-
alrigh i'm new to the site and this will probably sound retarded to the rest of you, but... there are a few options on my 1996 sc 400 that i'm wondering what EXACTLY do they do and how are they effecting my performance and fuel economy #1 - the overdrive button on the shifter, what does it do and leaving it on or off which will save me gas #2 - the power and normal switch to the left of the shifter, yet again same question and i will definately think of some more things later lol, oh and i was looking at buying an exhaust, i was looking for a deep throaty sound, does anyone know of where i can get one for the sc 400, i dont know if exhaust systems are unique to cars or universal but i wanted something with a throatier deep sound instead of the sound a ricer civic makes thankyou

also i might add if you put in a new aftermarket amp, then everything in your entire system will have to go no stock sound parts will work with one aftermarket one, so its all aftermarket or all stock, my system alone cost me 1500$ and i have a 4 channel bridged to run all of it and my sub is crappy just to install the system cost me 1000$ because there is no dash kit for head units for an sc400 so whoever does it for u will have to make one, and they will have to cut holes in the back if you want bigger normal size deck speakers in the back for a 2 door to get better sound, they will also have to take out ur middle sub and either put one 10" sub there or if you opt for a box in the back, they will have to cut out the wall there so it doesnt get distorted when playing to you in the front seat because your gas tank is in the way and will mess with the sound just another angle for you to look at when trying to decide -chase

go to www.vielside.com and look under aero-fashions and go to lexus, you should see SC-400/300 on there somewhere, there are two options of different body kits though i recommend the C-I model though front bumper = 760$ side skirts = 600$ rear bumper =600$ spoiler=600$ its a bit pricier then other kits, but veilside is known for its quality and they did all of the work on the cars in Tokyo Drift and designed the RX-7 Fortune and do body kits for even bently's and ferraris http://www.optionsauto.com/products.asp?dept=4214 that website there is a liscenced dealer for veilside body kits, so if you want to buy, i also recommend buying from them you'll still have to pay for shipping and painting and install or what not or either do the latter two yourself i've looked at every body kit available for this car, and that or the EVO II are my favorites, hope that helps you some -chase

i have no idea what a solution would be to your problem but im selling my nakamichi 1996 amp either individually or as a whole system with all the stock speakers, head unit, sub, and cd changer if ur interested in any of that we can work out a deal it works perfectly and it would save you tons of money rather then having to order a 1000$ amp from lexus let me know if you can't figure out a way to fix it

New System Install (pics)
Chase Croft replied to southernsc300's topic in 92 - 00 Lexus SC300 / SC400
not sure if you're referring to my posting: It should be a whole new system. without the speakers. I have something like that in my LS without the touchscreen or the rearview camera. no i was saying that to the guy who made the post, i wasnt sure at first if it was only the head unit or what i was referring to speakers, amps, subs and head unit and such, a touch screen wouldnt be a system on its own and its a waste of money in my opinion to get off the start ALTHOUGH if you got the money, then hey by all means its a cool toy -

oh whoops i just read what you are getting for ur system, post pics anyways though once u get or w/e but yea, id take out the holder and just put a new changer in the back where the stock one was, but id recommend an ipod hookup, i routed mine to the center armrest, i love it and also u said u were putting 6 1/2 in the back, ur gonna have to do some cutting, it wont fit normally, so either be prepared to do some altering or to dish out extra bucks then a normal install -

is it a whole new system or is it only a head unit? lol if you got a system put up some pics, id love to see bc i just recently installed a whole new system as well that i transferred over from my 98 accord when its transmission gave out and i sold it. 1000$ just in installation... i found out the hard way these cars REALLY aren't meant for aftermarket sound systems lol -
check out the Veilside C-I body kit, thats my favorite that i have ran across so far im buying it as soon as i get some new rims first and the funds for it http://www.optionsauto.com/products.asp?dept=4214

Hey everyone, my name is Chase Croft, so basically I'm selling the entire sound system for my 1996 SC 400. it comes with the Nakamichi Amp, 10" sub in the center deck in the back, the 2 rear deck speakers, the 2 front speakers, the original head unit/console, and the original 12 disc cd danger. I don't know if there are different grades of sound systems that were sold for the SC 400 during 1996 but its a Nakamichi, i know that much since it says it on the Head Unit and i can research more if you want, i'm okay with working out a deal or sending first or something since i just started here, We can do the deal through this site or ebay or whatever else you can come up with im willing to do. I can get pics if you are interested, i'm selling this system because i put in a whole new aftermarket one, and if you change one piece of the stock system it wont work together and it all has to go. So nothing is wrong with the system, it all works perfectly fine, please let me know if you are interested either by posting here, or contacting me by email if by email, please state the subject and that you are replying to this advertisement I will be shipping from Marietta, Georgia shipping price will be determined by what method you want to use Email me at SkidsiXX22@aim.com thankyou for reading this everyone, if you are interested let me know and we can work out a fair price PRICES ARE OPEN FOR DISCUSSION
