  1. was all of that changed for 09.... or have they been added for 07 and 08 as well? I did read something about the transmission programming being different for 09 but never actually found out what was done, if anything
  2. mine are brand new and are noisy on the freeway, but i figure an 18" and 255mm rears will be noisy. grip and handling seem to be pretty decent imho. stock tired have to balance ride and handling..more for the ride tho, so i think they fit the bill. 18" tires in the past for me have lasted 15-20K.
  3. is there a list of what this changes? just maps? any UI changes?
  4. 2009 is250's shoud have it
  5. I just got out of an RX8 lease and into an 08 IS350... I have snow tires and rims from the RX8. They are 5x114, unsure of offset, and 215/55/17 all around. this would be 26.3" diameter all around.. the rear stocks are 26" so aside from an extra 1mph at 65mph speedo reading i don't foresee a problem. the stock fronts are 25.1" tall.. the new ones will be 26.3" .. is that going to interfere with the suspension components? a 1.2" difference should be equal to a .6" suspension drop, so clearance shouldnt be an issue right? is the speedometer measured from the front or the rear? front would be off by 5%.
  6. i dont know how the 09 drives... i never drove one. but im happy with the 350 and 18" wheels. i wouldnt call it a "facelift" since the face didnt change... but it is a little updated. if you are looking at a 250 then the VDIM may be worth it, but with the 350 you are getting that in the 08 anyways. I just got done with an 6pd RX8 4 year lease, and the IS350, while not as nimble, feels just as confident in the turns even without the sports package, at speed. i havent taken it to its limits yet and i might notice a difference there, but for 95% of my driving its great. If you can get a great deal on the 08, id go with it. but hey you are looking at a 250 with 17's so might be a whole different story
  7. I just got an 08 IS350 w/Nav&ML ... I cant tell the difference with the "facelifted" 09's at all really.. just the mirrors and tail lights but form the front I cant tell. Anyway, The Nav and Bluetooth works the same for me... can dial by voice via number or phonebook, Nav directions with voice. None of that is Different for 09. 09 just had a few cosmetic changes.
  8. Hi, I have a 2008 Lexus IS350, Navigation, Mark Levinson. (USA Model) Ipod Classic 80GB, Latest firmware Ive researched the SL2i and have read countless message boards, but I have a few questions: I have 5000+ songs, and will arrange the “genre” to be the First letter of the artist, and make a playlist for each letter… with the latest firmware am I able to: 1) Choose “genre”/”playlist” letter “B” 2) Then have a list of Artists under letter B and choose something like “Bob Dylan” 3) Choose an album by Bob Dylan. (or atleast a song that I want to play, but have the choices limited to ONLY bob Dylan songs?) Or would choosing a “playlist” mean that I have to pick a SONG out of a list of every song made artists starting with “B”? If so, then Would I have to scroll through 250 artists to get to artist “Wilco”.. all by pressing the “down” arrows on the Nav screen? Would I be able to scroll down a list of artists/songs/album/playlists by turning the Tune Knob? That seems to be simpler than hitting the down arrows 200 times. Ive checked out install pics and UI pics, but there arent any series of pics showing the hierarchy in screenshots. Nor is there a video demonstration. Thanks, Irfan
  9. What is it listing at? Edmunds says it should be around $36,500 ... TMV 35,860
  10. MSRP stands for Manufacturers Suggested Retail Price. Its what Lexus suggests the dealer charges. They can charge whatever they want, in fact Lexus cannot force them to charge a specific price, THAT would be illegal (antitrust). No I think you are correct, but that has to do with the type of consumer that seeks out internet forums. Someone who is a car enthusiast, has a working knowledge of cars, etc. The typical Lexus owner is not that way though, and they just prefer to use the dealer. ok so i didnt realize that i wasnt on the last page before i replied:) Anyways, Lexus cant FORCE them to charge a certain amount.. but if they find out they are overcharging and they arent happy with it, they can definitely curtail future support for the dealership. The dealer would then likely follow Lexus' MSRPs. Im sure in the dealer/Lexus agreements there are clauses saying the dealer has to follow certain pricing guidelines. if Lexus doesnt take issue with it, they can do what they want.
  11. Charging over MSRP isnt consumer fraud. Thats a suggested price, they arent using it... their call. If they are breaking Lexus rules, then its a breach between them and Lexus, but not the consumer. The market makes the real price, the MSRP just gets them in the ballpark.
