  1. I own a 2008, and have noticed that it is pretty jumpy over rough roads. Not sure which tires your car has - mine has the Yokohama Avid model. I can't say I love them, and believe they are a major source of the problem. It's annoying enough where I'm considering installing Michelin XGVs on it and trying to sell off my Yokos (only 5k miles on them - any offers?). The tread pattern is quite blocky, and that usually translates to a rougher ride. The XGV is much more a "touring" tire, with more longitudinal grooves and some fairly thin tread aspects for quietness. If I decide to take the leap, I'll report back if my theory is correct. I know the Toyo Proxes are quiet too, but when I got only 22k from them on my old ES330, I swore off them.
  2. I have a 2008 with Nav. Recently got a postcard from Lexus advertising (I think) version 9.1 for $199 plus installation. I was also wondering if the new version is that different. Does anyone know how to find out how much changed? In terms of new roads, corrections or add'l POI's? Don Depends on where you live, and how many new roads there are. I upgraded mine, and haven't found it lacking yet. Don't let the dealer charge you for install, though. All you have to do is remove the curved piece directly below the screen, but use something to protect the screen from scratching. I slipped a credit card between the piece and the screen, slid it upwards and the piece popped off. The DVD drive is right there - the switchout was very simple and I saved .5 hours of labor (unbelievable...it's a 60 second process). You'd think with the money they get ($50 higher than a regular update for a Garmin) that they'd do that favor for you, but it IS Lexus.
  3. LOL, give it a try. Like a previous poster, I'm still shocked the guy didn't put the car into neutral. The man was apparently a CHP officer, and from my understanding they are provided extensive driver training - hard to believe a driving expert wouldn't figure that out. Can't put myself in his place, but maybe panic prevented clear thinking... Just got a Certified PreOwned 2008 with only 20k - there are some very good deals on those if you can find them. Mine is almost fully loaded, and for under $30k.
  4. Go to your local Toyota dealer and get regular lugnuts. The anti-theft ones are no good.
