  1. Oh yeah, don't forget to take out the headers, exhaust, and such. Don't forget to get rid of the sunroof and power seats along with all the other power motors, but leave the windows in, so you don't have air going inside the car to slow you down by creating drag. That includes the antenna mast, as well. Also, the speakers. All of them. Its the little things that count ;)

    PS, dont forget the mirrors!

  2. Chyea. Well, I don't really think he'll cut any corners or antyhing like that just becuase of the fact that you two know each other and that could lead to more business. Like I learned in economics: Its often more profitable to keep a recurring customer than to have new ones.... or something along those lines.

  3. ns3425, you want a quick car that appeals to people? invest in either an SC 300-400 or an IS. Thats your best bet. If you can spend money on useless crap, then you can afford to pay for the gas for these cars... DO NOT RACE THE ES!! Lol, its not made for that. Thats like me racing a Buick...

  4. Unfortunately, there isn't much you do with your car. You could try that 98-00 Camry supercharger Toysrme was telling me about. You just have to make it work with your car (good luck on that one, lol). The ES 300 is more of a family/crusing car, not a performance car. Trade yours in and get a 3 Series or an IS if you want performance.

  5. my transmission is pretty much destroyed, too. My grandmother had the car towed to this one place where I don't even know where it is and she said the guy there is quoting me 850 for a new transmission. good deal? bad deal? Should I not do it? I called the guy and I tried looking for the place and I couldn't find it anywhere... I don't think I'll ever trust my grandmother again....

  6. I was driving with my friend in her mom's Cavalier, and I know you guys probably don't know much about these cars, but anyway, the car has around 80K miles and its an 04. Anyway, her and me were driving and she 'accidentally' shifted the car into Reverse while going about, oh say, 30 MPH. She said that she had it Neutral before shifting it into reverse. What she wanted to know was if there was going to be any damage to the transmission. The car kinda jerked and made some funny little noise and shut the car off entirely.

What I want to know is why she would be doing that kind of stupid stuff at all, especially with me in the car!

  7. Alright, so I've come to the decision that I'm not going to have my ES repaired (serious transmission troubles), and I'm going to get a new[er] car.

I've narrowed down the choices to: a 2001 Jaguar S-Type

    -2001 GS 300

    -any 2001 Mercedes C-Class

    -2000-2004 BMW 3 Series

-any year IS 300, up to 2005

Any experience or knowledge about any of these cars would prove to be very heplful!

  8. I know we all go over this all of the time, but I was just curious as to whether or not this would fit my '92: 215/50 R17; just to get a clear verification

I plan on installing 00-06 IS wheels on my '92 cos they look really nice, and I was wondergin if A) anyone's ever tried it and worked, and B ) Whether or not I would have any problems having them on the car.

    Thank you!

  9. no, unfortunately not. I don't have any subs in my car, and I have trouble as it is with 17's on my '92 with 215/50 R17. The sludge problem is prevalent in that year model from what I can tell. You can search in the forums. You'll get LOTS of information. I did, and now, I know more about cars than ever! (I'm a bike kinda person, but I love Lexus [fav. brand of car]). Oh yeah, your car is definitely more powerful...dunno why you would lose.
