  1. I wanted to upgrade mr radio receiver  so I can charge and play my iPhone. The radio shop I spoke to said I caint  because the do not make a dash conversion kid and would not look good. So after researching  I found a conversion  wiring kit that after removing you radio they have a wiring kit that plugs into CD player from Hong Kong for life  $ 18.00. I'm gonna put a couple of 12 inch speakers in the trunk.  Google or Look up 3mm jax aux in interface adapter for Lexus GS 430 Do you think that would work if I showed them that

  2. Hi, for 2006 GS430, what is the required amount of brake fluid needed for complete 90K brake fluid flush? Thanks! Michael
  3. Hi, can you please share you method, in detail, of getting that grommet removed? I have a 2006 GS430 and first discovered my carpets completely soaked in summer of 2011. At that time I took the car to my mechanic who lowered the tranny and blew compressed air in all the crevices from underneath. Also pulled the carpet on the passenger side and blew compressed air around there. Seemed to help for a year but I just noticed that the carpet is getting wet again. I see the water drops in the passenger side footwell. Thanks in advance! Michael 06 GS430
  4. Got a call from the dealer today, they said Lexus called them and told them that they were not going to help with this issue. I have to pay 1,400 to get it fixed on my own. Any suggestions??? Wanted to add that I found a "knowlegealble" mechanic & said he knew wat the problem was, he said the HVAC was glogged, grabbed a old hanger, poked it a couple of times & water released & started dripping the way it was supposed to (when a/c on & car on). He charged me 50 bucks to do that & install a new cabin air filter. WHAT IS WRONG WITH THESE DEALERSHIPS!!!??? It took a while for my enterior to dry up, but it did & I no longer have this problem! FYI!!!! Help, I have '06 GS430. Started noticing a musky smell a couple of weeks ago. Pulled up the floormats yesterday and found the carpet completely soaked. Both front and rear. I knew right away what the issue was from reading this forum before. Took the car to my mechanic, he lifted it up but we could not find the drain tube. The TSB mentioned above is for GS300. 06 GS430 has drain plug is right on the bottom of the evaporator unit. The whole dash needs to be taken apart, then disassemble AC unit and pull out the evaporator box. Takes 4.5hr of labor according to the shop. Do you know where exactly your mechanic stuck the hanger to clear out the clog? I have 69K on the car so it's out of warranty. I was reading somewhere the dealership would charge between $1400 and $2000 to fix it. Please help! Thanks, Mike 2006 GS430, soaking wet
  5. Sorry, should've mentioned that. No, it's a donut spare. My car originally came with Dunlop run-flats.
  6. Hi, I hit a crater-size pothole on Saturday night and blew out front right tire. Rim and tire look OK, I hope I only need to have the tire re-sitted on a rim. It's a '06 GS430 with stock 18' rims and brand-new Conti DWS all-around (luckily, I bought tire insurance). Question, is it OK to drive on a spare for a few days until I get the car to a tire shop? About 40 miles daily, under 50MPH. I am mostly concerned about inflicting any suspension/alignment damage. Thanks, Michael
  7. There is a button to turn on/turn off parking sensors, it's in the dropdown box on the left. Hope this is as simple as that for you.
  8. I had Dunlop runflats. They sucked: very rough in the summer and absolutely no grip in winter. I could not even get up my driveway with just an inch of snow, so I had to get a set of winter rims and tires. When Dunlop wore out a year later after 20K miles I got a set of all-season high performance Continental ContiExtremeContact tires. Love them! Great, predictable handling all-around, and no need for snow tires in the winter. Michael '06 GS430
  9. Hi, if you don't mind, how much did you sell it for? I've been trying to sell my 06 GS430, same as yours with all options and 45K miles and haven't had any luck yet. I have it listed for $28,900. Thanks, Michael
  10. Hi, I am in Chicago area (NW suburbs) and I am looking to sell my 2006 GS430 fully loaded with 42K miles, asking $29900. Here is the link to craigslist post: http://chicago.craigslist.org/nwc/cto/1282999020.html Let me know. Thank you, Michael
  11. Did you go in for a break caliper recall yet? Apparently there was too much gap in the rear calipers which resulted in excess screeching noise. I've had it in my '06 GS430 for over a year and after they did recall work it went away. They also installed new rears pads for free.
  12. Looks nice! How much and where did you get them from?
  13. I just had mine done 2 weeks ago. They showed me the new dash clips that are now wrapped in felt so there is no plastic-on-plastic contact. The car is now silent, just like Lexus is supposed to be. I asked them to run the power cord for my radar detector while they had the dash out and they did it free of charge. Also did the two recalls (brake caliper and power steering) and they gave me brand-new rear brake pads as part of the rear brakes TSB. Glad I didn't do rear break job last month, saved me $600. :) That was in Arlington Lexus in Palatine, IL. Michael '06 GS430 Thanks for the info, Michael. I'll definitely try out Arlington Lexus. I live pretty close to Woodfield Lexus, but their service is complete s$%t! I don't think I've experienced such bad service at any other Lexus dealership (except maybe one in Greenwich, CT - when I made the point that $80 for an oil change seems a bit excessive). I had Woodfield Lexus take a look at the creaking - they seem to have fixed the one coming from the left corner of the dash (near the windshield), but there's still a rattle coming from the nav unit area. I also just passed 40K miles (well, I'm at about 42K now), so the bumper-to-bumper is over. I do have Lexus's Platinum plan - will that cover the creaks/rattles? Also, can anyone provide the TSB number(s) for the dash rattle? I tried searching the forum, but am not allowed to search for terms under 4 characters. It would be nice to have a tsb thread made as a sticky to gather the info in one place. Thanks! Your warranty is 4yr/50K miles, so you're good. As far as TSB, I think it is "SB0040-08 JUL 08 Interior - Instrument Panel Rattle". I got this from alldata.com site, http://www.alldata.com/TSB/31/06310920.html. Just call Arlington Lexus and schedule an appt for noise kit TSB. I've been to Woodfield once, I would never go back, overpriced service and stuck-up attitude.
