  1. I should have come out with the same post when I picked mine up three weeks ago! The 350 is truly an amazing machine. Before deciding on it, I drove a friends new 330i, and while I appreciated the extreme driving feel of the beemer, I felt like the feedback I was getting from the road was adding work to the driving experience. The IS doesn't have the same road feel but I believe this is for people that want technology to head in the direction of a nicer transportation experience rather than going to war with the road surface.
  2. It's the Nav system. You probably set a destination with a chime for an icon. Whenever you drive by said location, you'll hear the chime. Check the details on "My Places" for the "Icon" and see if one of them is set to an audio icon.
  3. Is your TUV similiar to our DMV (dept of motor vehicles), or is this some kind of government program to regulate the purity of automobilies (like the Reinheitsgebot)? :)
  4. Nothing beats it for features, comfort, and class, at this price. But I hate to say that in my opinion, the 250 is rather pep-less. Albeit, I test drove the AWD which loses a little of the oomph. I'm somewhat environmentally-conscious and was convinced by the numbers that I would love the 250's balance between MPG and HPs, but after driving it, found even myself wanting more power. If they kept the 3.0L I would have gone for that, but the 2.5L just didn't have enough kick. The decision to pollute the environment and make the middle east sheiks richer was easier to make.
  5. Small problem with my new IS350: Washer fluid won't come out of the main jets. The headlamp washers work fine, but pulling the wiper control upwards causes the wipers to activate but the windshield stays dry. I don't hear any kind of pump trying to push the fluid out, and I have checked that the fluid is topped off. Probably a no-brainer 'take it in' situation, but perhaps someone has a no-brainer 'try this' solution? Thanks, Jason
  6. I guess since there is a way to turn it off, no one has bothered to add a switch themselves? Needing to perform the dance moves on the brake pedals before driving the car seems a bit less convenient than a switch would.
  7. I recently saw an "Off switch for VDIM" as a feature of the new 2007s on a sheet issued to dealers from Lexus. Has anyone figured out how to do this to the 2006 IS? Sorry, I should have done a search first. The answer is on this forum.
  8. The salesperson showed me a sheet from Lexus that had about 7-8 bullets for changes for the '07 model. The shark fin antennae was the only major change. I also remember seeing that the HID lights would now be an option, and I believe an on/off switch was going to be put on the IS350's VDIM.
  9. My local dealer told me that because the 2007s are about to come out, they can no longer order 2006s. He seemed somewhat unsure of himself and had even flip-flopped on this story at one point, so I obviously have my doubts. Does anyone know if this is true?
