They are on both adhesive and pinholes. To unscrew them u have to do it by taking off trunk lid liner and some how reaching into all holes and unscrewing them. As far as looks i would get rid of the one on the back that says "Lexus" and leave the rest and maybe "sc400" part. So just leave the Lexus logo. Up to you of course. Also try to get an estimate from a body shop. Might just be easier to pay them to do it. I do agree with you. It does make the car seems cleaner and stealthier. I would do it.

Well as i said above, doing many of these common fixes didnt help one bit. I got new bushings, tires, rims, etc. and still have this annoying problem. I geuss the worst case scenario is 1) replacing control arms and/or bushings and 2) the entire steering rack. Neither of which im sure will change anything either. So i geuss worst case is you invest money into a bunch of new things and still have problems with steering. -

Are these bushings sold (and replaceble) independent of the control arms themselves? Yup, they sure are. Though most people claimed that their bushings were bad and caused this problem, i got no help by replacing them. Here is where i got mine. This sight has a bunch of good stuff for our cars. http://www.tmengineering.net/suspension/daizen/index.html Also check this post for how to replace them and what other members said about this topic. http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index...showtopic=34743 -

I too have the same problem. i have 17" rims brand new tires and took advice from club members and replaced rack bushings with Daizen bushings. I had allignment done 5 times in less then one year and shocks are brand new. and i STILL have these problems, pulling to the right at all times and VERY uncontrolable steering wheel. Im not going to further deal with it because im selling the car, but i have no advice on what to even look for next. -
Just so you know, many people just use some really high industrial strength double sided tape and leave it at that. I myself have 2 friends who have done that and it looks really clean and profesionally done. Its been holding on for over 1.5 years now. So its all about how you do it. Rivets would be the best way in terms of strength but a shop would charge at least if not more then what the kit itsself cost. As far as the side skirts go, im not sure but i dont think anything has to be removed, but dont quote me. Go to a body shop and see what they say and charge. Good luck.

Thanks, i've seen that one. I didnt want it because of the weak point in the middle. Just in case any one cares. I did get the 93 - 98 supra turbo strut bar and it DOES FIT. So in case any one wants a cheap strut bar it does work. I'm just not sure what other models of sc400 it will work for. the 92-95 for sure. The rest i dont know.

I do have the warranty, but the fact is i pad money to have it installed and spent a day without my car. Plus there was nothing said that i have to get aftermarket springs. So why they broke shouldnt be my problems. But i still am going to yell at them and my mechanic to do everything over for free, afterall it is both their faults. Plus to get the monet back i have to redo my suspension and send Tokcio the broken shocks. So even to get my money back i have to get another suspension. So i really am stuck here, especially since the guy who was gonna sell me his OEM suspension flaked on me today.

yeah everything was installed fine and tight. The perch did slide down because i can see where it was and now where it is and the marks it left from sliding down. I cant drive my car now or sell it. So now im just stuck with it untill i get another suspension.
-
The fact that they shoudnt have, doesnt mean they didnt. I mean its a fact for sure they did because right now sitting in my driveway is my sc400 tilted over. So it is what it is. Plus at the mechanics shop we took off the wheels and the spring perches did slide down. So they did in fact blow. So now im stuck driving a loaner car.

Ok, well i got new shocks (tokico) because my oem ones where completely dead as could be. So i got the Tokicos. I originally got my cousins eibach springs that he gave me for free. So i dropped my car of at the mechnic and later got a call that the eibachs wont work. For some really weird reason they really didnt fit, even though they came off of a 92 sc300. So i decided to put on only the Tokicos. Got them installed and an allignment. Got my car back and got disappointed when i got the car back. Car remained just as loud and bumpy and ride height went up at least .5". So right off the bat i was mad. Then one day after install, i went to go fill up gas. As i was pullin onto the gas station i heard a loud pop. So right away i checked everything underhood, wheels, etc. Then yesterday when i came home i noticed my front drivers wheel was lowered to the point of the tire. Then today on the way to the mechanic, my rear drivers blew out as well. So now i have a car that is tilted over on its side. At the mechnics i found out the spring pearch moved down and the passenger side is barely hanging on, so it will break any day now. So i paid for Tokicos and install and now have no Tokicos and need new install. I found a guy who will sell me his old used oem shocks and springs and make that mechnic do it over for free or i will unleash hell on him. As far as the Tokico im going straight back to the store monday and demanding a refund. So i basically got really screwed and lost a lot of money for nothing. And second problem is that my steering is just way to playful. I go over a crack in the road or a pothole and my steering wheel begins to turn on its own. I was told to replace steering rack bushings so i did. nothing better though. Now mechanic is telling me my caster angle is off. Lastly, i have a really loud thump noise when i go over a bump in the road. It sounds like something heavy in the trunk bouncing but i have NOTHING in the trunk, no spare or tools or anything. So i dont know what it could be. So im just getting more and more frustrated with all these damn problems. So right after i get the suspension fixed im selling this car asap, as much as i dont want to.

Hey, well i just dont know what to do now. My car is giving me some many problems i cant take it anymore. less then 200 miles ago i got brand new Tokico shocks. Right off the bat i hated how it felt and looked. Now a day after my install the front two already broke. Since my mechanic said i wouldnt have to get aftermarket springs, i didnt. As it turns out though since i was maxing out the shocks they broke the second i went up my driveway. So now i have to get new shocks and springs OR i can get oem lexus shocks. My question to you guys is does any out there have some oem shocks laying around? I dont care at all if they are completely dead, i need them asap. I dont want to pay for springs, shocks, and install again. I want to get some oem shocks and get rid of this car. Please help.

Hey, Currently im looking to improve my SC's acceleration. My SC isnt too bad but i still feel that its acceleration is just too underpowered. I feel that when i floor it, it struggles to actually go fast until it reaches about 3000 rpm. I was told that i should try to find some shorter gears and a shorter final gear. My question is what (if any) gears could i use instead of my stock ones to give me a better acceleration. I dont understand why i would possibly need to go 150 mph. I would rather top out at about 120 but accelerate faster. I am looking for the stock specs on the gears in the rear end and what possiblities i have for changing them out or what i can do to improve them. Any info would be great. Thanks.

Well that sucks. Those are a bit expensive when added to the work to change them. Im gonna check them out before i do any work on them. Thanks for the info though.

Well got everything done. Unfortunately the eibachs i was given didnt work so now i have only Tokico's and stock springs. I replaced bushings with those Daizen ones. Im really unsatisfied though. My old shocks were as dead as they could possibly be, so they needed replacment anyway. Unfortunately the freeplay still continues. I had my allignment done with install and again today because i wasnt satisfied. My mechanic just cant find why my steering has so much play and still pulls to the right after 5 allignments in less then 1 year. I am also very disappointed with the ride height. Since the shocks are new, my car lifted 1/2" up. I hated old height but now i just cant even look at my car without being disgusted. Im going back tomorrow once again to check my brakes and possibly bleed them to make sure im not rubbing brakes. If anyone has any more possible ideas as to what else to check please let me know. I am also really looking for some lowering springs but dont want to pay to much. So if you know where or if you have some you are willing to sell, Let me know. Thanks!
