  1. For those who had a question about a $200. gas card after the transmission replacemnet, I checked directly with Lexus and here is what they emailed me: "About four weeks after the Special Service Campaign repair is completed, the customer should receive a pre-paid $200. gas gift card" This should put this question to rest. I don't know how Lexus could be any more accommodating than this.
  2. I have a 04 LS430 and as far as the transmission "lag", I have ABSOLUTELY NONE. If I push on the accelerator too quick it literally jumps. I've learned to accelerate slowly to keep it from "jumping ahead too fast" In fact after the new transmission was installed I saw no change in this. As to the new transmission...I've driven about 300 miles and so far it has worked just fine. My service advisor said they had installed several and none so far had been returned. As to the time to replace the transmission, my work order allowed 4.5 hours and for the fuel pump, .9 hours. My service advisor knew nothing of a $200. gas card. He said all cars would be filled with gasoline when deliverd to the customer. Unfortunately, I had just filled up a few miles before I took it in for the work.... I guess the only way to lay this $200 gas card to rest is to call Lexus....
  3. Where did you get the information on a FREE gas card fir $200, when you take your LS430 in for tran and fuel pump replacement??? I took mine in today and asked the service advisor about this. He knew nothing about it. He did say that since some gas had to be drained from tank that they would see that I left with a FULL tank. But alas, I filled up just a couple of days ago and it was practically full when I took it in....
  4. My 2001 RX300 has just passed 10,000 miles. Occasionally at slow sppeds when I apply the brakes, i get a slight "sqweek" or "squell". Anyone had this problem at this low mileage? My service advisor tells me that some brake linings have been defective and will be replaced under the warranty. Don't know if mine falls in this catagory or not until I take it in for inspection...
  5. Check out www.nctd.com for specs and complete review of the new 2004 LS430. This is a great review and spells out everything about this new car......
  6. Does anyone know where you can buy a can of SPRAY touch up paint? I have a spot on the bumper of my 2001 RX that is about 3" x 12". My dealer got me a bottle of the touch up paint but it doesn't cut it. I'm sure a body shop will want to paint the entire bumper. The paint is code UCAFO. Dallas, TX
  7. I called Germain Lexus of Dublin just now (11:15 CDT, 8/22/03) and talked to sales dept. He said no 2004 except the RX. No LS430 on display this weekend!!!!!!!!!! C'mon guys, they aint gonna be here til next month......
  8. Re the guy who took delivery of the 2004 LS.....I called the dealer in Palm Springs, Desert Lexus. The guy I spoke with said no 2004 had been delivered. In fact he had not seen even a picture of one. I spoke with my local sales rep and he says they are coming in to California ports but NONE have been released. He said as they arrive they are numbered 1, 2, 3, etc. and it could be the dealer knows he will get #3 and pre sold it on this basis......
  9. I have a 2001 RX 300. I like it so well I plan on trading my Cadillac for the 2004 LS when they are introduced. My question: Has anyone had experience with discounts on newly introduce models or will I expect to pay full MSRP?
