  1. I have used Bridgestones Dueller H/P in this size with no problems. They're on Ronal R28 7-spoke wheels, which look wonderful. The only concern is clearance between the tires' sidewalls and the rear struts ... its about 5 mm. But they have never rubbed. I switched to 235/70-16 to get a summer performance tire (I use Blizzaks on the Lexus wheels during the winter) and at the time there was little choice for the stock tire size. In summation ... you can use a 235/70-16 tire with confidence.
  2. The most common cause on most vehicles for the CHECK ENGINE light is gasoline with too low an octane rating. Run the current tank as low as possible and then use at least 6 full tanks of 93 octane from multiple name brand stations. Try starting with Sunoco 94. Remember, US gasoline is among the lower quality in the World. So don't skimp the pennies and use the best you can get.
  3. Try www.alldata.com For $25 per year any member of the public can subscribe to their workshop manual program for a single vehicle/model year. The manuals are online, easy to access, well indexed, and printable. The days of recycled-tree manuals are numbered!
  4. I do all my own oil changes and here is what is involved ['99 RX300] 1: Auto transmission and front differential [15000 miles]: Only use Toyota Type IV. Its available in 5 litre cans at the dealership. Open both the transmission and differential drains. The differential is seperated from the transmission by an internal wall; there is no front differential refill hole. 2: Center viscous differential [30000 miles]: You will need a 22/24mm box wrench. I use Mobil1 Synthetic Gear Lubricant for the refill. 3: Rear differential [30000 miles]: I have the [relatively] rare Torsen differential, which is under-utilized. It would be better as the center differential. Again, I use Mobil1 Synthetic Gear Lubricant 4: Engine: Mobil1 5W30 [10000 miles] and Mobil1 Oil Filter [5000 miles] Don't forget to use new drain hole gaskets from your Lexus parts counter. The gaskets are all different! Also, when refilling the center and rear differentials you will need to buy a lubricant gun with a flexible nozzle to get aroung drive shafts, etc. This enables you to get the new lubricant in using pressure. Good luck!
