  1. Hi VMF, I had read the prices list you had got for your timing belt service and all the parts you had replaced. You got some excellent prices. The prices for the Denso set was 99.00 plus shipping of $8.00. Denso is the only way to go. they are dated .numbered and bundled perfectly. Brentg
  2. Lexus parts are the only way to go for plug wires. Get Denso. I got mine at Irontoad.com 1-800-590-0304 Brent
  3. Where did you get your new cd changer? Ive been looking for one for my 95 LS400 and cant find a good price? Brent
  4. Just fixed my LS400 this weekend, replaced the plug wires, plugs, cap and rotor, started the car and got that pesky miss fire and 2500 rpm. Went back down and worked on the timing belt by way of the timing belt tensioner and did check the timing allignment cams and crank shaft. Turns out the the miss did come from a miss alignment of the cam and crank shaft. We fixed the problem after 2.5 hours of work , the car now runs great again. No more engine light or traction control light blinking. Thanks alot guys it was a timing miss. Brent.
  5. I am in central California, we do have a additive in most fuel MTBE which is known to be cancer causing agent. I drive a 1995 LS400 and get 26.5 on the freeway and 19-20 in the city. I agree, some of you guys must have a very heavy foot. Brent
  6. Does anyone have access to a service manual and can look up this DX code error PO336 (crankshaft position sensor)? and what the fix would be???? The traction control light just pulses continually without a pause? The car runs good, drove it this morning up to 90mph with the rpm under 2,800 without a miss. any thing above that I get a miss.. Brent
  7. Thanks for the codes Lextreme Brent
  8. Went to lextreme this morning and down loaded the dx trouble codes without any problems? Thanks lextreme Brent
  9. Thanks tleader, that is exactly the information I was lookng for. The only other information I need now is which scanner to buy, I am not looking for a 3,000.00 professional shop scanner, just a simple handheld scanner that will do the job. Does anybody have any suggestions? I noticed ebay has 125.00 for a equus scanner, I also noticed on 50.00 scanner ????? Brent
  10. VMF I was looking for any kind of recommendation for purchasing a hand held scanner. I know that autozone has one for 155.00. Just wanted know what luck you have had? Also took the care out last night for dive. I started and ran flawlessly right up to the point of 3000 rpm and then I got a miss fire style of hesitation. If the timing belt was out the engine would run consistantly rough. Is it possible I could get a copy of this list of DX Codes from you?? Brent
  11. VMF, what would you recommend I get in the way of buying a OBD II dx code reader? Brent
  12. I tried to down load lextreme.com web site for dx codes but got an immediate warning from my virus protection. Cam't down load/ Brent
  13. I also forget to add the car has 135,000 mi never replaced the wires/rotor or dist. cap or pvc valve. Brent
  14. Stevei I have a question for you. My ls400 just started running rough last week ever since My buddy changed the timing belt, we are extreemly sure the timing marks and the belt all ligned up even after the crank pulley went back on. the engine misses at 2800 rpm and above. My buddy says that the miss feel like a distributer/ignition miss. Like we disturbed something in the dist/rotor/plugwires etc. The check engine light is on and the traction control light is blinking constantly. Do you have any suggestions?? Brent
  15. No, didn't remove the compressor, just removed the bolts attached to the compressor. Dont take off the cam pulleys, they are specific to the left and right side of the engine? Brent
  16. Does anyone know how to get the engine codes out of the LS400? If so do you also have a list to determine what these codes mean?? Brent
  17. Does anyone know what it means when the Traction control light stays on and blinks and the check engine light stays on?? Brent
  18. When we put it back together, crank pulley/bolted in we checked the timing marks again and everything lined up perfectly, my buddy has done hundreds of timing belts and everything fell back into place. My friend said that there is a very high possibility we may have disturbed some loose particles with in the distributer/rotors/ or plug wires. I have never changed any of these things and the car has 135,000 miles. Brent
  19. Hi, my buddy and myself just changed the timing belt and tensioner pulley's on my LS400 1995. The care was working great but now since putting it back together the check engine light is on and the traction control light blinks. In addition the car as a ignition miss like a bad plug wire at 2000 rpm. Does this sound familiar to anyone? Brent
