When do I need to do a major service for my LS430, 2005 Doing 60K now? By major service I mean Timing Belt and all sort of things around it including water-pump and all.. I am planning to do a minor service and change now all kinds of filters, Engine,Differential,Gear oils, Brake Disks & pads, couple of bushes and mounts then keep the major up til reaching 100K cause the car is running smooth now and my driving is not rough as I tend to take care of my vehicles. Took it to the dealer for a normal check up having maint req coming out on the dashboard and they advised to do a full service (minor & major) but it costs around 2700$ which is pretty too much for me at the moment. Any Advice..

How can reach this switch- an illustration would be helpful in this case...

I noticed in the recent couple of months that when I shift the gear from P to R, N & D as usual; the indicator (lights) on the dashboard flashes as if the gear stick is not firmly stuck in to the current shift and it decreases soon as the car is warm up Actually when I am in total stop, I usually don't put the shift into N but I rather keep my foot on the Brakes until I start moving again & in that position I notice my dashboard having the rpm going up & down the indicator lights of the gear blinking as usual which usually SHOULD only happen directly before shifting from P -> R -> N -> D. I suspect something under the gear stick that needs to be replaced, any ideas?

I could still go and see them before buying/bidding, and I think that's what I am going to do. Thanks anyway.

I found it. dvd rom is located in the trunk by the way.. I'll do the installation and tell what comes up with ME..

Hello everyone, I bought an LS430 from the US and shipped it to my country and got the DVD map installed by a showroom. But the problem is that the map is a 2007 version and there are important updates from last year and I succeeded in finding an image of the software carried out from an LX570 2008. Now I want to install it but have no idea how to do that. I understood that there should be a GPS receiver somewhere under the seats or somewhere else where from I should insert the CD-DVD whatsoever and perform the update. any help should be appreciated. Dear all, I bought a used 98 LS400 recently and I found that the headlights are standard halogen not xenon ones. My friend has got the same car and he told me that it comes OE installed as standard and equipped with xenon ballast and bulbs. My question is how can I know whether the ballast ware there or not and how can I install one if not.... I found a picture of an OE ballast from toyota..

Hello friends, I bought an Import Lexus LS400 1998 from the US - California. I live in the U.A.E, and the car came unfortunately without the remote controls with just the spare key. and it came with missing cd book changer in the dashboard. How can I get those two parts for now... I know the dealer who sold the car back there in California can I contact him to issue me a new remotes or is it possible to fix in a new one. Weird thing is that most of the cars come with missing wodden gear knob, spare tyre tool kit, and whatever they can dis attach from it there in the Port I think... Thanks for All.

Thanks for ur interest, in the last picture you can see a red and white wires on the right hand side which should be weld with the one the left hand side, any idea which one goes with which.. the one on the left hand side is the factory input to the OEM mast. i will have a look on the directions(manual) for the white and red...

i don't mean to step on your toes spawn, but, this is only true if it's ever been reported in that condition. Carfax can only tell you what someone else has told them you know. you 100% correct, if I myself did a damage to the chassis for example and went to fix it without informing anyone, how would carfax Know !!! Our dealers here are not the same in your country !! here the dealer is called so only if he sells Brand new cars where as used cars are sold by Used car shops and they intend to provide no guarantee on anything, you wanna buy: come or move the hell out of here. That why when they cheat and no one knows but because registration policies are strict chassis damaged cars are not allowed to pass and therefore they are forced to tell you that this car for example is for foreign customers only, Oman, Saudi...etc The most important indication in my option is the odometer and the personal experience. How smooth is the engine and gear plus the sounds that come off while your above 120 Miles ?!?! :whistles:

Hello guys; Last weekend I went to the Import car market and I was looking for an Avalon (2001-2006) or LS400 (99-00) but I couldn’t find a really clean car since most of the dealers here are cheaters. They buy salvaged cars, repair them and resell again or if its accident free they’ll change the odometer reading to raise the price :chairshot: I was wondering if it was possible to buy a Lexus from the US and export it to my country but if there is a way; any chance that I will be cheated since I am abroad. I have a question on my mind; Can you guys register your cars if it was hit in the chassis. Thanks for reading this post.

Hello to every lexusER.. I noticed recently an oil leak under my car.. I tried to follow it up and I took this picture.. what can it be. ** It started when I changed the oil from the AC Delco 3000K to the new 7000k; does it matter. Car is doing now 275k+ 91 model. Appreciate any help.. Thanks

I am having the radiator leaking from the sides as you see in the picture and don't know what to go for.. Should I put a whole new one in or should I change the plastic covers on top of the radiator.. second thing is the alternator which I think is Dying AGAIN. This will be my fourth one to put in there. Is it only my problem or is it the heat in my country or is it my luck.
