  1. you should be alright. but it also depends how u like to sit. i sit really close and tight to my steering wheel for some reason. some people like to sit way way back. i cant understand why cuz its looks like it would be alot harder to drive like your in a low rider when u own a lexus. thats just me tough, it felt wierd starting to drive my is300 though because prior to getting i had been driving a sienna for 2 years. i think the ES has just a little more room but its nothing dramatic. although it is sorta a bigger vehicle so naturally i would also assume it has a slight room advantage compared to the is.
  2. nope i dont think so, haha man im surprised ur not on my !Removed! about bringing up the old topics. i feel really bad cuz now it just expands the forum thing when people try to look at new posts. sorry again guys. how do i know if iv had the reflash? i think i read it in one of the many old forums i brought back up. but after reading so many of them i forgot. thanks bartkat
  3. hey i was thinking about getting the hks carbon/ti exhuast system. i was wondering if anyone has this exhuast on thier car and how it works, sounds and performs? evryone from what iv read in past threads uses the hypermax or dragger II exhaust. can nyone help me with this? o and sorry for bringing back all the old !Removed! topics guys. i wasnt paying attention to the dates, i was reading as much as i could and didnt even notice there was a date. my bad people.
  4. haha really? damn i havent even paid attention to the dates. i gues si posted alot of replies cuz im looking for alot of information. my bads man.
  5. can anyone give me a link to the 2jz-gte swap forum? iv been searching all day. soo many pages...
  6. im looking at an hks carbon/ti. what do u guys think? everyone seems to point that the hypermax or cragger II exhaust.
  7. go for the is! i had that same choice man. im glad i got the is300 cuz i like the fact its the closest i will ever get to my dream of owning a supra haha! jokes aside the is300 is what id go with. iv gotten tired of seeing the wrx now because i see so many that have the same mods. like an hks carbon/ti exhaust. dont get me wrong its a great car, i just think in the long run your mor elikely to get tired of the wrx than the is300. best wishes man...
  8. if u stick your hand in the scoop right next to the fog light on the outer side u will feel two screws. or u can also look and see. all u need is a ratchet wrench, 10mm that short enough to fit in there. and you can losen those two screws and pull it out. but be carefull when using the ratchet make sure u dont hit the paint. to me thats the easiest way because of the fact u dont gotta remove anything else.
  9. i agree with stevie j. also remember wheel and tire size. lower profile will not be as smooth or "soft" but im pretty sure when u wanna start getting into performance stiffness becomes unavoidable i assume. i love the way my 2001 is300 rides.
  10. your a goodman bartkat. conasant replies to help people like me. the dlr's annoy me.
  11. demon eyes are badass.. u can get the kit on lextasy.com. kartkat is right, u gotta take apat the headlight to instal them though.
  12. i got an 01' is300. its great but the manual shift on the steering is really slow for me. great car though. manual is a pretty big difference.
  13. they went from an inline 6 to a v6. people said to make more hp. but as far as seeing a supra run with over 1300 hp sometimes im wondering what the v6 will do. i wanna drop a 2jz-gte in my car. its already got the 2jz-ge so its not that big of a deal until i get the money.
  14. bartkat know alot, haha i envy this guy. thats a good idea also, i was wondering why the that light was always on. i hate it. and yeah man the only way to get the fog light clear is to get the altezza ones from what i know.
  15. id go with the k&n intake fipk. because its a little cheaper i suppose, but i gotta agree with all these guys, u gotta open up both ends if u wanna increase anything a little better. im saving up for an HKS carbon/ti exhaust system, K&N fipk intake. but im not sure about the headers yt. anyone have any suggestions?
  16. the only reason i would want a carbon fiber hood is to shed some weight on my 2001 is300. that thing is heavy! the dealer told me its built like a tank, as great as that may be i dont want it to weigh as much as one. the car is smaller then a supra yet its only 200 or 300 pounds ligter.
  17. damn i have that problem on my right side also! i gotta check that own then.... i thought my car was a lemon or something haha, just got it two weeks ago and already got a dent from some *BLEEP* parking too close to me.
  18. haha yeah man i just got my is300 two weeks ago. i must say the color is stunning under the sun. diamond white pearl. as far as problems go i gotta agree with bart kat, the auto is very sluggish for me. even in the steering wheel shift. i just love the car otherwise though, i got alot of plans in the future but not anytime due to the fact i saved up all my money for the car and now im broke to buy other things. its a great car though, pretty much the same engine as a supra. but id suggets a 2002 otherwise. i dont know why there arent that many threads on the first gen is300.
  19. i think what most people think are coming stock might be the hid's. cuz hid's are stock on the is300. screw xenon. just get some 7.5k hid bulbs and youll be fine. avoid the cops though! hah
  20. $3000 for a key?? That's a down payment for another car!!! bro its not 3,000 its only 300 man. thats still expsensive as *BLEEP*, but from what i understand the reason it costs that much is due to the technology i guess. and since its lexus they can charge whatever they want. i bet it only costs them 80 bucks to make at most or something, if im wrong or not about how much it costs for them to make the key dont matter. 300 for a key is rediculous. just because i own a lexus i saved all my life for dont mean i got the money for a 300 dollar key. by the way you cant jimmy it as far as i know. the car wont start without its original key or spare because of the ID code it uses to identify the holder of the key. in other words if the id doesnt match or doesnt have one coming from the key or a key, the car will not start. thats from what i understandthough, i could be wrong. if i am i would like some education from the kats on here. best wishes...
