  1. Here are the items that are available in your year, receiver CD changer, used w/Pioneer amp CD changer, used w/Nakamichi amp amp, Pioneer amp, Nakamichi (7 spkrs) You need to determine what you have and which item is bad. From there you will have a better idea of what needs to be done to get you going. If it is a wire issue or something like that than no matter how many new parts you put in, it will still not work. You need to get some diagrams to determine what should have power when. Test for said power and eliminate from there.... If you determine is is a component and would like a price I'd be glad to get you a price of a used unit...
  2. Part of that is knowing where to search though....
  3. I'm a bit confused. What's a "trim kit" ? The tail lights can be replaced since the size of the 99-00 unit is the same as the 01-03. I believe they connect but not 100% sure (but it has been done!) Here is one for example.... http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2004-Lexus-...1QQcmdZViewItem
  4. Here is a list of yards that show the Pioneer Cd Changer in their inventory. The yard at the bottom of the list will be the most affordable.. This will give you some options... 1999 Radio Lexus RX300 -CD CHANGER-GLOVE BOX MOUNT W/ P0438 $226 Auto Parts of Shelby -PRP USA-NC(Shelby) Request_Quote 1-888-597-7278 Request_Insurance_Quote 1999 Radio Lexus RX300 -CD CHANGER LESS CARTRIDGE M0881 $226 Auto Parts of Shelby -PRP USA-NC(Shelby) Request_Quote 1-888-597-7278 Request_Insurance_Quote 1999 Radio Lexus RX300 -CD CHANGER USED W/PIONEER-W/ Q0009 $226 Auto Parts of Shelby -PRP USA-NC(Shelby) Request_Quote 1-888-597-7278 Request_Insurance_Quote 2001 Radio Lexus RX300 GLOVE BOX MOUNT LESS MAGAZINE Q0445 $225 Auto Parts of Shelby -PRP USA-NC(Shelby) Request_Quote 1-888-597-7278 Request_Insurance_Quote 1999 Radio 1-99,PIONEER,CD CHANGER 202980 $225 Miami Parts USA-FL(Opa-Locka) E-mail 1-800-644-4788 1999 Radio Lexus RX300 IN GLOVE BOX 20042094 $220 PRP- Midway Auto Parts, Inc. 5. I don't know if that is correct but Ebay has sellers that offer a chrome trim kit for your existing lights. Going to buy myself a set. Just have not gotten around to it...
  6. Brand New, 19 to 25 dollars... http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/OEM-LEXUS-R...sspagenameZWDVW
  7. Ebay has a few to choose from right now as well... http://search.ebay.com/search/search.dll?c...mats&category0=
  8. Technically yes. But the reality is parts availability vs the price of the components. Let me do a search real quick and I'll post how much used units are going for. Be right back... Well, just did a search of 1800 yards and not a single one came back. I can run it another way but I'll have to do it in the morning due to the system updateing....
  9. It is very common to have the alternator make a high pitch noise at start up in cold environments. This has to do with the load vs the RPM's. That is not to say that changing a belt won't help it though. Why,,, a good belt would eliminate some of the slippage at the alternator pulley. This would mean that all of the mechanical power is getting to the pulley., As a result, the alternator works a bit easier to produce the required output...
  10. Low tire pressure may be the cause of your issue. If one tire is considerably lower than the others it rotates at a different RPM. The ABS sensor will register this as either a skid or a traction control issue. Hence the Anti-Skid system activating...
  11. Many shops have a tool specifically designed to compress the spring. Most are air operated and work very well. Some are mechanical like a scissor jack with little claws on it. At my shop if someone brought in the strut and wanted the stuff swapped over to the new strut I would charge $30.00 flat fee or $50.00 if we were doing both...
  12. I just did a search of over 1800 yards, (my family owns a salvage yard and were connected via the Internet) to see what is available. Before I got to the price page, I found these options... CD changer, used w/Pioneer amp CD changer, used w/Nakamichi amp amp, Pioneer amp, Nakamichi (7 spkrs) receiver, w/o navigation system receiver, w/navigation system Just to give you a few examples, here is what I found when I went further. Pioneer Amp 212 in stock, $75 to $300 dollars. Many at $125 ish. Nakamichi Amp, 37 in stock $150 to $275 ish (7 Speaker System) Receiver w/o Nav system 612 in stock. $100 to $300 on average. Some listed at $700 Receiver with Nav system 24 in stock. $350 to $900. Many listed at $450 If you find you need or want any of these items I'll be glad to help you out...
  13. If the system is anything like most it uses the ABS Sensors to register a difference, I have seen some put sensors on the out-put shaft at the Trans-axles. But basically, if there is a difference between two or more of the tires then the system activates. In your case it may be as simple as a piece of rust, scale, dirt stuck on one of the sensors and the module not getting an accurate reading. I'd take a look at the sensors and make sure they are nice and clean..
  14. Go some where, (Autozone for example) and have them pull the code. Mu bet is you will find you have a lean bank. Normally this is caused by a vacuum leak and not the O2 sensor itself. The code will come back saying the O2 is out of range, and it is. It is out of range as there is too much air vs. fuel....
  15. A vacuum leak will cause the same code fault. What happens is that too much air gets into the system, the O2 registers that there is too much are and it pops the code for to lean. In reality the fuel is the exact same amount as when everything is good to go. The vacuum leak creates a false code as far as the fuel mixture/ratio goes as it is getting addition air into the system. With domestic vehicles this is mostly caused by a vacuum line and occasionally an intake gasket leak. You can find the vacuum leak by having the engine running and spray Carb cleaner onto all the vacuum lines and then where the intake seals to the engine. If the engine either stumbles or the RPM's rise you have found your leak.... Save your money and don't buy the O2 Sensor until you have eliminated the easy stuff first....
  16. Great information. Where did you get that? I think that, as great as this car is, the manual leaves a lot to be desired. Thanks Gary ← My manual has poor info at the very best as well. Called he dealer and he explained it exactly as mentioned above. Does nothing more than start your Lexus in second gear. Simply helps in the slipping department. Mine is AWD with the rear Limited Slip. I have no issues and have never used the ECT option..
