  1. Just read this thread....I have a similar problem with the mirrors on my '06 350. After a few times of tilting and returning to the preset and memorized position, the mirrors begin to return to a default position that is different from the one I set for my viewing. It's not that different, but definitely is not where I want them. Dealer took a look at it and claimed they couldn't see what I was talking about and said if I replaced the mirrors on warranty and the factory couldn't replicate the problem, I'd be charged for two mirrors...definitely not something I want. So it's on record and I hope it gets worse so that it will be covered on warranty. Not much to do, but I'm sending this out to Lexus cyberspace.
  2. I've had black and black in the GS and also black and tan and loved them both. The black is a drag in New England during the winter and it's a magnet for police. This time I chose the tungsten with black and it's gorgeous. It looks clean longer in the winter and is really sharp at night. I've had many compliments already.
  3. Recently, I spoke with a rep from Soundgate in Wyoming. Website:http://www.soundgate.com/index.php?request=category.index&categoryid=225& They manufacture the LEXXM and LEXPDXM units which sell for $300 and $360, respectively. Local hifi store, Tweeter, will supply and install such units including XM in dash receiver for about $450. This enables operation through dash and has no visible components. I'm told alteration of the dash by other than Lexus techs will void the warranty. Any inputs appreciated
  4. I have a one month old IS350 with 1900 miles. Boston suburbs: 50%hwy,50%city; curvy and hilly. Spirited driver and I'm getting 19mpg on 91 octane gasoline.
  5. Tweeter Etc quoted me $425 to install the just released Soundgate LexXM integrated adapter with XM tuner. It's $80 more for the soon to be released LexPOD IPOD and XM combined that allows operation of both from the dashboard. ← ←
  6. Congrats on your taste! I had a black on black 01 GS430 leased for three years, named her 'Sweet Charity' and absolutely loved the car. It didn't have nav or ml sound, but I didn't care at the time. This car can do just about anything well. I drove it through three winters in Boston on Fulda 17" snows and it was better than my Explorer in 6 inches or less of snow. Just put it in snow mode and floor it and you're up a hill and into the garage...or wherever you're going. Now I have a 06 IS350 and will put snows on it as soon as the wheels are available.
  7. Have I got a story for you!!! Today I woke up in Concord, MA to an inch of wet snow and temps just below freezing. Since it was an early Sunday morning with no traffic, I thought I try out my brand new IS350 with 18" wheel sport package and see if it can handle this amount of snow on original equip. (I'm waiting for proper 17" wheels to arrive in the States so I can mount some winter tires). About 400 yds from my driveway I encountered 2 beautiful deer standing in the road just around a slight downhill bend. I was at 15mph in 3gear, manual drive, reg trans mode and simply couldn't stop. The car skidded sideways and with VDIM and antilock brakes chiming like Big Ben, I luckily slid to a stop in the driveway on my right about 5 ft from the trees and fence along its left side. The car wouldn't turn at all it was like driving a sled. Granted the conditions were perfect (black ice under the wet snow) but this is really dangerous. I've had three GS's including a 430 with winter tires and it outperforms my Explorer in 6 inches or less no contest. This new and magnificent machine is a wonder but don't ever go in snow without snow tires. AAA towed me to my home and out came the Explorer.
