  1. That's a rawk star price with pads (I assume they are some kind of high performance ceramic pad?)! Where?
  2. Hey Guys, I'm looking for a good HID kit for my GS, does anyone have any experience with them? What are quality brands and places on line where I can get a kit? When I look for them, I just run into spam or junk! Also, I'm looking for a aftermarket Grille and haven't had much luck, where are they at? Any GS guys out there that can help? Thanks Guys!
  3. Keep in mind, to get good sound, it's best to put in a new deck. Factory sound just doesnt cut it. I just put a double din Alpine touch screen DVD player in and the quality of the factory speakers improved. I put 1 JL 13 inch w7 in the trunk and removed the stock sub in the rear and used it as a port. It's really worth the time/money to just take it out and use it as a port for the speaker in the trunk, considering the trunk room. Where the sub used to be acts as a direct port for the car and it sounds great. Considering it's one of the best subs money can buy. Take the time/money to go to a good car audio shop (not bestbuy, circuit city, or other chain) and keep your car the best of the best. You'll get enough sound from a bandpass box in your trunk, save the energy from your amp and power the box rather than "wasting" power for the additional sub in your stock location. You wont be disapointed with the results if you get good subs in your trunk. Just my .02!
  4. I have also heard of this at my dealership, I don't know how true it is though, but it kinda makes sense. Is there a performance tranny fluid that is recommended... i.e. from Redline? Lucas makes a great product that works well with all vehicles. This stuff is gold! Any dealer will recommend it!
  5. I have 20x8.5 fronts and 20x9.5 rears and they are awesome. The car looks great, handles great, their a lightweight wheel, which makes it a breeze to drive with oversized wheels. The only downfall with going with 20's is the tire size. I barely have an inch of rubber on my rim so every bump I feel. It's all about what youre going for. Your personal opinion will do you best!
  6. I worked at toyota for four years as a mechanic and have changed many transmission fluids. In all the cases I've seen when your tranny fluid turns black you are going to gamble. Theres a chance that if you change it you wont see any difference in the performance of your transmission and things will only get worse...quicker. Things could also get better too, it's really a flip of the coin. Your transmission kind of gets used to the fulid that is in it and with all the metal shavings in the fluid, thats how your transmission learns to work. Parts selttle in places that work and they settle in places that dont work, which can cause your transmission to act up. If I was in your shoes, I would inspect the fluid by taking a small sample of it, getting it tested, and taking the results to toyota so they can make a good decision on what to do. From the sounds of it though, I wouldnt touch it. If you do, worst case, your tranny only gets worse and you end up losing it. Save some miles on it, dont change the fluid. Just my opinion. If you want to make a difference ADD an additive to it to help it perform better.
  7. With 20's on my GS, my brakes have been slowly giving way. I finally gave in and upgraded my brakes and wow, was I happy! I put Brembo Cross-Drilled and Slotted Rotors on and man has it made a difference! My brother owns a Motorsports Shop in Wisconsin so I got them through him and can't thank him enough! I'm not trying to advertise, but if anyone is interested these prices really cant be beaten. A set of Four Brembo Cross-Drilled and Slotted Rotors only go for $400.00. For pads, I highly recommend the axxis series pads. there are two choices. One is the metal master series.. Little cheaper, good for the money ect. around $85 for all four. The other pad is the ultmate ceramic. They are pricy, at around $140 for both front and rear pads. But they kick !Removed!. I have them on my GS, and love them! Combine the ultimate ceramics with good rotors, and your brake system will be as good as a Ferrari's. Just passing a good deal onto someone else! PM me if interested.
  8. Dam, All you guys hating on such a nice ride. Let that new one be, come hate on this one for a minute ;)
  9. Check your manual, I programmed GS's remotes with the help of the manual!
  10. Hey guys, I'm new to the site and thought I'ld introduce myself. My name's Kipp and I own a 1998 GS300. I'ld say mine is average for this crowd, cars in good shape, no mods except for the rims. 20x8.5 fronts and 20x9.5 rears. out of all the cars I've owned, this car doesnt handle nearly as nice as what I would expect. I havent invested any money into the suspension though, and I dont think I will. Still undecided. There are lots of nice lexus's on this site though, very impressed. Stay pimpin!I
