  1. I'm considering thee Junction Produce mufflers with Invidia pipe for my '06 GS430. There is a video on You Tube and the Junction Produce mufflers give the car a nice 8 cylinder rumble, instead of the "tinnier" sounding V6.
  2. For the last four days now, I have had an odd issue with my Bluetooth. On Sunday, I was on a call that got lost (thanks Verizon). When I called the person back, I couldn't get it to go through Bluetooth. Now whenever I get in the car (it is set up to automatically pair to my B.B. Tour) the car goes into a mode that shows "CONVERSATION" but there is nothing but a loud buzzing. The only way to end it is to hit the Hang Up button. My phone shows its connected, the car shows its connected, but when I dial out (on the phone) NOTHING appears on the Nav screen except the map or whatever I have on there, and when a call comes in, it shows I have a call, but I cannot pick it up. I have deleted the phone from the car's Bluetooth and the Car Hands Free from the phone, re-paired them and still have the same issue. Does anyone have any ideas? :( Thanks!
  3. As much as I love my GS 430, I would like just a little bit throatier sound to the exhaust. Has anyone put the Tanabe Medalion Touring exhaust on their GS 430? On their website, they only have videos of it on a GS 300. If anyone has any other suggestions, I'd be glad to hear them! Thanks!
  4. I had the car in the dealership. It wound up being the gas cap. It was not sealing properly. It was replaced and the issue is GONE!
  5. I have Michelin Pilot A/S on mine and they are very good. We also have them on my wife's 2001 Corvette. They were the only Run Flats for her car that actually had a snow rating (up to an inch, but better than nothing here in IL). The Pilots are quieter and run smoother than the Goodyears that were stock. I only buy the Michelins now for any of our vehicles!
  6. I just experienced the same thing with my 2006 GS430. The display showed the lights for Traction Control shut off, the check engine light, and the tire pressure monitor system. The digital display kept showing Check VSC. I disconnected the negative terminal on the battery, let it sit for about 15 minutes and reconnected it. All lights and the message are now gone and my VAIS I-Pod docking cord works again, which it stopped suddenly yesterday. The battery disconnect only worked for a couple days. The lights are back on and the car is going into the dealer tomorrow! I don't have the problem the Original Poster did with the car running rough though. I guess we'll see. I'm just concerned they are going to go through all the different steps I saw others go through with the same experience on here! We'll see!!!

  8. Well, there is your problem, Flaken are bargain basement tires. You need something that will grip better. UPDATE: Took the car into Lexus today and explained that over about 55 MPH and especially at higher speeds, the car needs constant steering corrections and almost feels that as soon as I compensate in one direction, it almost seems like to much and then I must adjust some the other way. Also told them that the car handling also seems very compromised based on road conditions such as one bump or dip forcing me to start making corrections again. My Jetta was easier to drive. I don't dare drive this Lexus one handed. I said no way should this 46 thousand dollar car be handling in such a dangerous way. This is supposed to be a sport sedan competing with the 5 series BMW. Mechanic went for a ride with me. He said he would check the alignment and also would look at the settings for the electromechanical steering. He informed me that there was a campaign and the steering racks were replaced. I don't know if that was on all 06 GS300 models or just part of the CPO program. He had heard of this steering issue before. He told me he cleared the rack/PS settings and reset everything, alignment was spot on. He feels this will take care of the problem. After this repair, on lower speed roadways, the car felt better. I only got up to about 60 mph for 20 seconds on a very flat well paved road. I will get it onto the hwy within the next day or so and update you. I sure hope this helps. By the way, they said they use Falken tires all the time with no problems. My 2006 GS430 had the racks replaced before I bought it. No problems with mine, but the GS is notorious for having steering with less "feedback" than its BMW and Benz competitors. I believe "uninspired" was the term that was continuously used in reviews.
  9. I used to pay $35.00 for my 2001 LS 430 plus about $30 extra for tire rotation. When I went and got my complimentary one for getting a new CPO, the receipt printed out $65.00 for oil change only. The interval for the oil changes is 5,000 miles at my dealer instead of 3,000 so that helps offset the costs too.
  10. I have one the dealer installed for the previous owner. The docking cable is run in the center console so I just keep an I-Pod Nano in there. It doesn't play through the FM, but through the CD player. The one issue is that it recognizes Playlists as a CD, so you are limited to 99 tracks per playlist and you control it through the stereo. So you can only FF through songs or skip to the next track. You can set it up to just play all the songs and control it on the Ipod. I like it since I don't have anything showing inside the car and can just leave the Nano in my center console all the time. The nice thing is all wiring is done behind the unit and you don't have the interference of the FM transmitter and it keeps the IPod charged.
  11. First congrats, Lee. You got two nice vehicles there. I'd like to say that Lee is a friend of mine and a fellow Moderator of a Watch Forum we're on. He is a great guy and I am glad he came to the Lexus side! You are going to love the cars and enjoy the info on this site too!
  12. Wash and Lube oil change? :) Thats a good one, you might as well go to Jiffy Lube or drive your car into a brick wall and get it over with :) Okay that response had me laughing HARD! Seriously, I use the dealership for my GS430. It is pricier than places like you are talking about, but its worth it for me. The dealer washes it and because its a CPO one, I get a loaner (even though I didn't buy it at their dealership). I may just be picky, but I trust the dealership more than I trust a place that services ANY car.
  13. I had Sirius in my 2001 LS 430. The antenna was mounted right next to the third brake light and could barely even be seen. There is still the wire run from the trunk but that can be done through the seatback and hidden in the trim.
  14. I picked up my 2006 GS430 at the end of September during the Certified Pre-Owned special program. It had a little over 40,000 miles and they went $28,500 before taxes. I was debating between the 300AWD (living in the snowbelt) and the RWD 8 cylinder. My wife asked one simple question: Wouldn't you want the 8 cyl. power more? She won! Congrats on your pickup! I will say when the dealership did the "We Owe" work, they gave me a new RX350. The Nav screen in the RX really made me sad when I looked at the one in my GS. I would DEFINITELY be interested in upgrading the screen for better resolution. ;)
  15. With the exception of the Lincoln Navigator I just traded in for my GS430, I am ALWAYS attached to them, as long as they are good cars. I still miss my 2001 LS430 and smile when I see an LS drive by. It was the BEST car I ever had. I got rid of it for the Navigator (for a job I wound up losing). When my friend saw my GS yesterday, she said you HAVE to be happy. You've always been a Lexus guy! My wife is REALLY attached to her 2001 Corvette. We have about a 4 inch think service folder on it and thankfully we got the extended warranty when we bought it (at a Lexus dealer) with 5,000 miles on it. The car had over $20,000 in warranty work (mainly electronics). THe car now has over 130,000 miles. She refuses to get rid of it. I just look at as an unreliable, money pit, but will admit, whe we take it out of storage in April (we just started storing it last year as it was her daily driver, even in Illinois winters) it is a blast to drive. Inevitably, something needs service and the reality sets back in. With ME abyway! ;)
