  1. My LS400 rocks! I cruised from San Antonio to Dallas and back last night/this morning. My speed was near 75 to 80 mph the entire trip. I averaged around 25+ mph. I didn't just take the car's trip info, I calculated distance to fuel consumption. The car felt just as good at 100 mph as it did at 40. Now I know why LS400 owners love their cars. Cheers
  2. Matt, NC211 & SW03ES pretty much hit everything on the head. I recently purchased a 99 for 15k. I was very nervous about getting a car with over 90k but this forum was great! The previous owner didn't do the 90k service but we worked out the difference in the final price. Bottom line, it’s a great car and you will not be sorry. Welcome aboard!
  3. Thanks guys, Looks like I'm going to have to take the hub cap off and look at logo.
  4. Hey Guys, Can someone tell me if these are factory rims or aftermarket rims with factory logo? I've done searches but haven't seen exact match.
  5. Where do you think I got the key? Hint, it was in the same box as the hood shocks.
  6. Great move, wish I could have gotten mine for 1K. You are the man! Enjoy your ride and remember to have just as much fun as you fix 'er up.
  7. ozcelsior, Welcome aboard. I've been on this board about three weeks and have already saved some $$$. These guys are great! Again welcome aboard.
  8. I went in today to get a key programmed and was fully expecting a long wait as the dealership looked packed. John Barecky met me as soon as I got out of the car. He immediately brought out a computer interface and preformed the job. I went into the service department to ask some 90k service questions and came out just as he finished. I asked him about paying for the service and he informed me there was no charge (since it was my first visit). :D John then took me around and introduced me to all the service and parts representatives. Fast service, professionalism, and car knowledge all for free. Thanks John
  9. SKperformance, What that price for a set or a piece? Did it require any modifications? What was the part number? Things I would like to know for future reference.
  10. The part number for a 99 LS400 is 5344059035 and costs $61.01 each at Sewell's.

  12. Bought OEM hood struts from Sewell Lexus (www.lexus-parts.com) and just swapped out old for new. What a breeze. Just did a site search and followed directions. It took 20 minutes to do and that including photos of the entire process. Thanks guys.
  13. nc211, Your right about cars and clubs. I'm a member of 3SI (Mitsu) and Tundrasolutions (Sequoia) but I'm on here more than both of those combined. Doing searches and learning more about this beast.
  14. Thanks VBDenny, I'll call dealership tomorrow and post recommended CCA rating.
  15. Yeah, I WAS going to ride in my Mitsu tomorrow but thinking it will be the LS.
  16. One word.... WOW! It's a big, fast, and smooth riding 7 year old machine.
  17. Thanks Guys, looks like I'd be wasting my time with the alternator. I'm just a little concerned because I feel I hold the key just a little to long during start up. What is the battery's recommended cold crank amps ?
  18. I dont seem to have an e-mail account. Care to walk me through the process before I e-mail and Admin?
  19. nc211, You must have read my mind. I was looking at a Craftsman 263-pc toolset this weekend! :D
  20. I’m having the 90K service done in the next few weeks. I know these cars are almost bullet proof but water pumps and alternators are common failures (at least on cars that I’ve owned) on older cars. After reviewing several posts on the price of having these services performed later, it seems like it would be cost effective to do preemptive maintenance. What do you guys think?
  21. ArmyofOne, When were you stationed at Fort Drum?
