Has anyone actually purchased one of these, had them painted to match and installed one ? How does it (the above one) rate compared to the ones from Spoiler Depot (below) ? Spoiler Depot version Just curious...thanks.
  4. Last Saturday, instead of going to an airshow, we decided to check out some vehicles. Our 00 Durango was 5K miles from the end of the warranty or next March for it to expire, so we were actively looking at getting away from the whole SUV thing - gas, mileage (14 MPG) etc. We saw this beauty at a local lot and decided to test drive it. We still wanted to drive around some more lots and take a look at some Acura TL's, Subaru's etc. Well, the test drive did it. We went back in and bought it and traded the Durango on the spot. So far, I just put in the new NAV update DVD. While searching the forums, I came across SW03ES' post that said it was easy as revoving the black NAV cover in the trunk by pulling toward you...correctamundo. Pull it towards you, flip the switch cover on the left side of the equipment towards the right, add some power via the ignition key, push the button that was hidden by the cover and out came the 2001 Ver. 1 and in went the newest to date of 2004 Ver. 4.1 - DVD cost me $268.38. Updated and played with the NAV while sitting in the garage. Way cool :D and worth it...not sure about every year, but maybe once every three years or so. On the SIRIUS note. Just renewed for another year last month and we love them. Our Durango had the Kenwood KTC-H2A1 Here 2 Anywhere receiver, but it didn't blend in well with the ES' smoth lines etc. Shopped, bought and installed yesterday, the SIRIUS Starbase Satellite Radio Receiver DEI SCFM1 ($169.99 with a $30 mail in rebate at Circuit City) and had them install it. Again, via looking at the forums, I chose the passenger side, inside of the windshield for looks and it gets great reception there. The receiver itself was two sided taped to the area above and to the right of the ignition key. The dark grey color of the Sirius body blends in nicely to our car's interior. Looks great in my opinion, very small and not very intrusive to the car's style etc. This forum is great, full of great information and well worth the bandwidth. I look forward to more browsing, lurking and postings. Hopefully the attached photo works so you can see the final Sirius install. Thanks everyone !
