That's right. I forgot about that. Thanks. Tom

Earlier SC's had a separate remote that was like a keychain. It was not built into the key. Possibly 1998 was the change, my 97 still has the key fob.

No. It takes special computer equipment that the dealers have.

I understand. I am the same way about having everything in working order.
I'll go take a look at mine and let you know if I think you can put in an aftermarket socket or if you will need to get a factory part.

Yes, it is pretty easy to replace, but how handy are you?
Do you have a volt meter?
You could test it to see if it is getting power at all.
It may just be that something is a little out of place and needs pushed back into place.
Do you see damage down inside the lighter? Do you have the "pop up" part of the lighter? If you do, stick it in and see if it heats up.

Number 10 is the one you need.

Sounds like all you need to do is replace the fuse for the cigarette lighter.
Suprisingly enough, the AC control panel is powered with the same fuse.
Make sure that penny is out of there, then replace your fuse and you will be good to go. That fuse is located in the driver's footwell area on the left side.
If you cannot find it, let me know.

Sounds like your compressor is near final death.

Unless you have Navi already, a simple CD upgrade won't change your info screen.
You would be better off buying an aftermarket Navi system for a non-navi car. It is very expensive to install a factory system.

I agree.
Try a little belt dressing to make sure it is the belts. This won't cure it for long.
Once you know it is the belts, you can have them changed and get peace of mind.
Mine made lots of noise until I changed the belts.

Sadly it does not work for my 2001 RX (different NAV system).
I wonder if there is another procedure......

Can you move the seat?
Is it just the memory that's not working?
If you can move the seat to a different position, do so and then hold the set button and press number one. You should hear a beep.
Now press number 2. Does the seat move back to the original position?
Make sure your car is running and in PARK. My SC times out after the door is open for a while when the car is not running and will not work until I start the car or close and re-open the door.
If none of this works, try looking for a bad fuse.

Check all the way on the left hand side.
It's there keep looking.
It has a cover on it.

It really depends on what attribute you are asking about.
There are a multitude of differences.

Nice.
It gives the impression that at speed all the color has slid to the rear.

I would assume that halogen bulbs are not a direct replacement if your car came with the HID. You would be looking at replacing the entire light assembly.
Can anyone confirm this?

Definitely wood.
In my opinion the leather can get scratched more easily from rings. Also the leather can absorb body oils or dirt from your hands and need to be cleaned. I like the fact that the wood can be cleaned easily and nothing "soaks in".
In my experience the wood lasts longer than the leather if your car sits in the sun too.

I recently was looking at new phones and several Verizon "outlets" that I went to were completely out of the V710 phone.
They told me that there were some issues with the phone that were being worked on and that they did not know when they would have any more in stock. Bluetooth was one of the 'issues".
I heard this from several different (yes, differently owned) Verizon outlets, so I would tend to think that something was actually happening with this.
But, the phone companies have messed with all of us before, so I would not hold my breath.

Tranny fluid is Toyota Type IV.
Transfer case (next to transmission) takes Gear oil.
Rear Differential (between rear wheels) takes the same gear oil as the transfer case.

My dealer suggest running wires no longer than 120,000 miles (2 sets of plugs in my SC300).
I would replace them. They are not that expensive and your car most probably needs them anyway.

It would really surprise me if a Lexus inspector was putting a mark on the headlight plastic.
Not saying it's impossible, but I would be surprised.
I would hope that they would have a bit more common sense than to mark up a vehicle on the lot.
I wonder if we'll ever really know what the true reason is?

I guess I need more info.
What do you mean there is an "X" on your headlight?
-
In my RX300 it is behind the glove box.
Open the glove box and see if there is a removable panel in the back.

When Am I Gonna See A Change For Sc?

They just refreshed the SC. New tailights and stuff like that. I would suspect that there are several more years in this generation. Remember the last version was around for 10 years.
