Thanks Jbar - compressor w/ clutch replaced within the last year with a rebuilt unit. Guy who installed it and another mechanic say it checks out fine. I had the same symptoms and needed to replace it as it was totally trashed. When the clutch comes on the compressor should turn. If it doesn't it's trashed. Another way of checking it is to turn it by hand. It should turn freely. Make sure your not turning a disengaged clutch by putting a socket on the bolt that holds the clutch to the compressor. You'll need to remove the serpentine belt for this test. Good luck!

Same thing happened to my SC 300 LEXUS battery. Replaced it with a battery from COSTCO.

When I removed the evaporator to replace the expansion valve I noticed the heater core located just inboard of the evaporator but couldn't see how to remove it. Does anybody know how to get it out of the plastic heater assembly?
