  1. No, unfortunately, the tire pressure monitoring system didn't make it into the 2006 400H.
  2. I hope it has the following: - Tire pressure monitoring system - Laser/radar cruise control - AUX jack input for MP3 players - It would be really nice if they would allow the user to listen to AUX input from the RES jacks on the main audio system (instead of only through the headphones as it is now). - As far as the Satellite radio, I hope that channel/song/artist info will be displayed on the NAV screen as opposed to the radio LCD text display. (same would apply to RDS info on the NAV instead of radio display) - Support for true discrete 6-channel surround sound from the various speaker locations would be nice too. - And I know this isn't likely (or possible with the 5th Gen NAV system), but I would really like to be able to easily sync my Outlook contacts/calendar/etc. with the car's phonebook/calender database - I wonder if that Lexus Link (like Onstar) is being considered. If most of those features above are implemented, I would seriously consider trading in my current 400H for the new one. Thanks, Mike
  3. That override only seems to enable destination input while driving. It doesn't have any affect on the telephone/phone book lockout while driving.
  4. Yup...that's it. I know it's a bit bulky....but it doesn't interfere with my field of view. Plus...considering that it was free from the dealership including 9 months of free service...I'm not complaining. Michael
  5. I got the Sirius Satellite radio installed. Attached are a couple photos showing the size & location of the antenna as well as an example of the unscrollable text display on the radio unit.
  6. I just got the HID Protection kit installed. Here's a pic of one of the Data Dot stickers. I attached a pic of the stickers on my car. There is one on each headlight & each front door. DataDot USA
  7. Hi everyone, Now I seem to be getting conflicting information from Longo Lexus. At first I was told that this Sirius upgrade kit will integrate with the nav system/touchscreen interface. Now, I was told that this was a mistake and it instead will display info through the regular radio text display (similar to VAISTECH's solution.) Here's another thread about the same thing at clublexus.com: http://www.clublexus.com/forums/showthread...415 Does anyone know truly how this upgrade kit that is being offered will integrate with the system? Thanks, Mike
  8. Hi everyone, I just made an appointment with my local Lexus dealership to take my 400H in on Thursday, Oct. 20th to have the new Lexus Sirius satellite radio upgrade installed. I'm not completely familiar with details, but the person I spoke with confirmed for me that the interface/controls are displayed through the navigation touchscreen and the antennae/receiver will be placed just up and under the rear view mirror. Is anyone else familiar with this upgrade? From what I heard it just came out this week so I don't have many details. I was hoping there might be some sort of additional audio input jack available to allow hook-up of an ipod (or other device) directly into the sound system. (I have the RSES, but unfortunately, those A/V jacks don't pass through the audio to the main sound system.) I'm curious as to what the controls & interface on the nav screen will look like and how the satellite radio upgrade is incorporated & accessed through the nav screen. Thanks! Mike
  9. I sent a question to CR and got this quick response from one of their test engineers ... "The RX400h headlights have very good intensity and good width (which may be why you like yours), but their low-beam distance is quite short and the light cut-off is abrupt. The scoring for headlights strongly favors distance as that's directly linked to you seeing an obstacle early enough to brake in time." Tom Mutchler, CR Auto Test Engineer ← Thank you very much for the feedback. This confirms for me something I had originally thought. I brought this issue up to the Lexus dealership, complaining that when driving at night (or more noticeably on an upward slope), the headlights seem a bit low and don't appear to illuminate far enough ahead. They inspected the headlights and said their positioning was correct and that the HIDs are lower on the left side as to not blind oncoming traffic. I wonder if the headlights could be adjusted up a little anyways to fix this issue. Thanks for your response, Mike
  10. Does anyone have an idea on why the headlights for the 400H were rated "poor" with the black filled-in circle? They never mentioned why in the article. Thanks! Mike
  11. Okay, if that's the case, then where & how is the software stored & how can it be upgraded?
  12. Do you guys think that those features could be enabled through a firmware upgrade? Is that even possible on the 400H's nav/phone system? I would think that the dealer should have the capability to upgrade the system with the latest software or BIOS revision without having to replace the entire system hardware. Do the updated DVD discs contain only map data, or do they also have system-related data on them as well? Anyone know? Thanks, Mike
  13. The issue you are having in regards to not being able to get an external audio source to play on the main audio system or get an external video source to play on the front screen is my biggest dissapointment with the RX400H. I complained to the dealer and the agreed that it doesn't make sense, but they were not able to help me at all. Has anyone found a solution to this problem? Thanks, Mike
  14. I would have to agree with you. The car is a lot of fun to drive. I find myself enjoying it more and more, but there are a couple things that are a bit disappointing. My biggest issue is that: With the RSES installed, there is no way to get external audio or video from the built-in RSES RCA input jacks to: 1) Display video on the front screen (e.g. Xbox/PS2/Gamecube) Currently it will only play on the RSES flip-down screen. and 2) Play the audio on the interior speaker/audio system (like if I wanted to hook up an external MP3 or Satellite radio device through the RCA jacks.) Audio from a DVD in the RSES will play through audio system. External source audio from the RSES RCA input jacks only plays through the wireless headsets. I don't understand the reasoning behind that. It seems like it would be a very simple feature to provide. Mike
  15. How disappointing! :( Those of us 400H single drivers can't use the carpool lane. According to the Air Resources Board: http://www.arb.ca.gov/msprog/carpool/carpool.htm "LEXUS 2006 RX 400h HYBRID - not qualified due to fuel economy less than 45MPG and lack of compliance with ATPZEV emission standard. " :cries:
