Aloha folks, maybe I am asking too much of a 168000-mile engine but, I can hear some lifter noise at idle in the morning. (mid-60s F). 2K miles since the oil change, Is it ok to use an additive in these engines? Do you have any suggestions? I have used Marvel Mystery Oil and also Lucas additives in U.S. cars they worked well. Thanks Ed

Aloha, the previous owner installed a Pioneer radio with bells and whistles including a 5X7 screen. I would like to add a wireless camera, how do I know what camera will plug in.? There is a USB receptacle in the glove box. God bless Ed

Thank you Dave, That is very informative! The gauges on these refill cans must be bogus. It read overfull 3 days ago so I took some out, down to just barely into the green. This afternoon it read overfull again so I took more out. I am aware of a leak somewhere but the A/C mechanics are so expensive over here. I'll see what tomorrow brings. thanks and God bless Ed

The A/C went out again. I put some Freon in and it blew cold but the engine surged when the compressor came on. It now blows cold first start in the morning (high 60s). After that the compressor runs but no cold air and I still get the surging! Any thoughts on this thing. Especially the surging. Warm here in the daytime. Thanks for your help Ed

I agree, blue smoke is oil. Unless it is heavy smoke, you may be able to use an additive to help the seals. Otherwise, let it warm up. God bless Ed -
Firestone, (where I bought the tires) wants $580 to put the pressure monitors in. They also said that that not having them will not effect the safety check. So for now, I will stay with the black tape over the light.

Aloha folks, my 2007 ES 350 does not have the pressure warning gismos inside the tires, and the dash light is on. I am worried that it may not pass state inspection. Do you know if the computer requires all 5 tires to be monitored or only the ones on the ground? Thanks, and have a good new year Ed

Aloha, is the noise when driving or when you hit a bump? I don't know what a kit is but replacing the end links on both sides solved the problem on mine. Did your mechanic look for anything loose under there? If you hear it by bouncing the corner then something is loose or worn.

I had a chance to look at this out of the garage today. The latch has a picture of a kid in a car seat. I suppose it is a tie down for the kid seat. Thanks for your help

Aloha folks, on my 07 ES 350, below the rear window is a package tray. there are 3 latches to pull up but they don't. The owner's book says nothing about them and I find nothing on YouTube. Does anyone know what this is and how to make it work? Thanks Ed

Hi guys, the steering was a bit noisy today. All that I had was Prestone power steering fluid. I understand that my 07 ES 350 should take ATF. If I put just a little in will that hurt anything? Thanks Ed

Yesterday morning the lights that are on the mirrors in the dark didn't come on! Today they worked alright. Yesterday I turned off the A/C and the radio came on! the battery after sitting all night still showed 12.4 V Do you folks have any thoughts? battery, computer or ? thanks Ed

Hi folks, tried opening the driver's side rear door today and the handle came loose. It looks as though there is a bolt from the inside came off. Are there any instructions on how to replace the handle? Is it a DIY repair? thanks God bless Ed

As with all gizmotrons, I spray electrical contact cleaner on any electrical that does not work. Often a cheep fix. I think that the drivers door controls the others, so that would be a place to start. good luck Ed -
Do you think maybe that the computer needs a few days to recognize the new MAF sensor?

There is a lockout button for the trunk just inside the glove box. -
