  1. Man let me tell you... Its finally awesome out so tonight I was able to look at the Capital building, Washinton Monument and the Potomac River as I cleaned and waxed the LS400. The only problem is I did not have my camera, but let me explain.

So as the sun was setting it was awesome... The Black Jade looks awesome.

After putting a few scratches (last fall) in my car with the squeege I finally have a great method.... What I do is put water and soap in a bucket... Then I rince LS off and use soft hand cloth to wash car... After spraying wax and wash on the car I then leave it wet.. Take out some good wax and go to town with a small wet terry pad (waxing)... Make sure the terry cloth towels are clean (cleaning)...

Good tips for the pre 2000 LS's.. You know the black rail by windshield. Get a black paint pen and color in the chiped paint... I just saw a 95 that looked like crap because of chips by windshield.. Polish the wheels.

In the end I kid you not.... There is no freaking water spots and the LS looks like a million dollars... This car looks as good now as it ever has... Can't wait to get my new rotors and show you all the pictures.

  2. Trying to use a FM transmitter. The reception in the city is okay at best so I was wondering if one could hard wire to system?

Since the CD changer has "ERR" message every time its over 50 degrees... I guess I need to do something.. Anyone get the changer fixed?

Or is there a way to install a new CD changer? Thanks

  3. Man it will keep on happening.. More or less after a few minutes it will work. Also if you wack the dash above the indicators it will work.

You may have a lighting issue when its cold... I just fixed mine by soldering a few capacitors.. Good luck

  4. Picture is Gettysburg.. Yeah the goof in the picture does ruin the neatness of the LEXUS...

Wheels are 17" Melie (or something like that). At first when I rotated I had what felt like off balance wheels, but after 500 miles they feel better.

Thanks for compliments.. Black Jade is a great color, but a spec of dirt can always be seen. Ohh well take the good with the bad.

  5. It seems smart to avoid freaking car washes, but its not that easy..

Example: Working anywhere from NJ to Maine from October to March... Its 10 degrees out.. Mud, slush and crap is everywhere. You drive 20 miles and your recently waxed LEXUS is covered in crap.... So since the valves on outside house hoses is shut off one goes to the car wash.

I did it also and it chipped my paint. SUCKS.. I did it again with the spray hose and then a squeegee and I put some nice scratches in my LEXUS.....

Also I think I used the orbital buffer with a dirty pad and it scratched the car.... So now it will be going to a detail shop and I will stop the obsession to keep LEXUS clean.

My point is up north it's a nightmare if you want your car clean

  6. 93 is awesome! Owned for one year and love the car.

The comfort, control and feel of the car is awesome!

As for the radio. It is more then loud enough for me. I like music and this system is awesome for 93. I play everything from rap, rock to metal. The car is awesome! If you can find a 93 with those miles buy, buy, buy!

22,000 miles??? I think I would pay up to 9k range for that car.. Maybe a bit more...?
