  1. Dupont Glo - Plus with teflon and silicone. http://www.jcwhitney.com/item.jhtml?ITEMID...&FID=27&BQ=jcw2
  2. Has anyone ever heard of this company, RVM? If so how is the quality. I came across a strut tower bar for under $100 so I'm a little skeptical. Any feedback would help, Thanks. Here is a pic if you want to check it out: RVM Strut Bar
  3. Just a quick update...I got my L-tuned appointment set for Monday and I just got the dents removed today, $160 but it barely looks like there was anything there....once I get it hand detailed and buffed I shouldn't be able to see anything at all. I just bought my rims too...they should be here next week. I'll post some before and after pics after Labor day.
  4. Is there a front strut sway bar for the GS300 2nd gen? I have seen plenty for a GS400 but none for a GS3. The mechanic at the dealer tells me that a GS3 can't have one because the intake is in the way but he can build me one. I just wanted to see if there was any place that has them. I've tried all the obvious places Lextacy.com, etc. 2nd, will I even need one if I get the L-tuned springs and a steering ECU?
  5. I just ordered my suspension upgrade L-tuned parts from the dealer. Should be here on Friday. I'm getting kind of excited now...the parts manager let me test out his L-tuned GS3 and I was like "DAMN!! its a whole new car!". I'm gonna order my rims/tires here in the next day or so. Now I just gotta get those damn dings fixed and I'll be stylin. I'll post before and after pics when I get a chance. And to think I was gonna sell my car!
  6. DO NOT USE THAT! A local news channel here did one of those things where they test a product out to see if it really works or if its just a rip off and that think caused more dents than it fixed. You have to use some sort of glue on your car too...which I'm sure is not good for your paint. Also the dent has to be a "perfect" dent right in the middle of your door or panel or something for it to work properly. STAY AWAY from that crap!!
  7. Well, I went to a Dent/Detail shop today and he looked over my dings and said he could "hook me up" for about $125...so I guess that's not too bad considering. He said its usually $85 a spot but for some reason he could do all of it for $125. I'm still gonna check a couple of more places but hopefully I won't end up paying more than $250 or so. I'm still mad...this cuts into my suspension upgrade and new wheels/tires money!!!
  8. Damn, you sure put me in my place! Just kidding...but really what you said makes a lot of sense so I think from now on I'll just get it hand washed at a proffesional detailer...that is after I get these freaking door dings out of my car. I have one question though...will buffing it get out any of the "streaks and swirls" you talk about or are they there for good?
  9. Man, I HATE DOOR DINGS! How come I can have my car for over a year and everything looks just like brand new and now in the past 3 weeks I get 5 door dings! I got two mutherf**kas today!! I wasn't really sweatin the first two that I got recently but on Tuesday I come outside and I have a big !Removed! dent on my hood...so I chalk that one up to kids playing or something and I figure I have to go to the dent shop now.... Well today I go out to pick up a CD and I come from Best Buy and I have 2 little dings on my rear passenger side. I'm like DAMN! but oh well, I was gonna go to the dent shop anyway...but then I head over to Home Depot and I park far away from any other cars so I don't get any more and what happens when I come out??? There's two freakin shopping carts right up against my rear fender....and I'm not talking about those !Removed! !Removed! little carts from the grocery store...I'm talking about big !Removed! industrial size carts that you use to haul wood and !Removed!...so I immediatly start cursing and pull the carts away to see the damage...a 2 inch long ding with a little paint smudge!!! What a way to ruin a freakin perfect Saturday!!! *&*%$##@&*$^-$#@$#!!!!! I'm MAD... :chairshot: Oh well, I had to vent....
  10. I have a black GS3 and I've been going to an automated tunnel for a while now...and I have had no problems. I even get compliments on the glossy shine and people are always asking what wax I use. Maybe its that Triple shine poly wax they claim to use....either way, I have had no problems. The place I go to has those soft cloth flaps but they get all sorts of Benz's, BMWs, and Lexus through there everyday. I wouldn't trust any of the other ones though but that's only cuz I don't see those nice cars going through there like this one.
  11. From what I've seen its a pretty new company but the local rim store has them here so I got a close up look at them. They are pretty nice but a set of four 18 x 8's costs $1250 with no tires. So its considerably more than the ADR's. I don't know what other sizes they come in but you can check here for other rims by Carre'...their own company website isn't up yet. Carre Sizes from SKP Carre Homepage
  12. Yeah, but I just figured that if I was gonna spend the money I might as well just get 18's. I would get some stock GS400 17's if I could get a good price for some used ones but everyone wants too much so its a better deal to get the aftermarket 18's. By the way, here is a pic of the Carre's: They look pretty much just like the ADR Sterling's but I think they come only in chrome and they cost a little more.
  13. The RX looks NICE!!! I think I've made my mind up and am gonna get the ADR's in the next 2 weeks. Its still a toss up between the Sumitomo HR+ and the Continental tires though. I wanna check out one last rim called Carre' that I saw that looked just like ADRs. But I think I have my mind made up.
  14. I just came from the rim and tire shop here and they told me to stay away from ADR rims. He said they chip really easily and that they had a hard time dealing with them about the warranty (his exact words were "ADR is junk"). Has anyone else heard anything bad about these rims or the manufacturer??
  15. Thanks for the feedback...I think I'm leaning towards an All-season tire thats reasonably priced...either the ContiExtremeContact, Sumitomo HR+, or the Yokohama's.
  16. Thanks for the info!! That really helps me out alot. And yeah, I found them on e-Bay but from a different dude. This guy is in AZ but he's still got the hookup on those ADR. I hope they arent' cheap quality or something. check it out: ADR rims on Ebay
  17. I have a 1999 GS with the garbage stock 16's now...so I want something that looks sporty yet classy and enhances the ride a little without sacrificing the smoothness of the ride. I'm thinking about getting some L-tuned stuff done too. Will these wheels do me right or do I need to go with another size?/
  18. Will that size fit without any problems?? It seems a little wider than all the other 18"s I've been looking at. And do you know what size tire I would need? Thanks.
  19. From what I've seen, they come anywhere from $9000 for a high mile (100K+), older model (93) to $15,000 for a newer model (95-97), with decent miles (65-85K). So I guess if you want a good quality used car that's right around 65-85K expect to pay around $11-$13K...but you might be able to get a deal better than that somewhere....but not by much.
  20. I came across a pretty good deal on some of these...how are they? will they fit my GS3? I will attach a pic. They are 18" x 8.5. ADR Sterling Diamond Cut silver
  21. This is true but if you have a BMW or certain Benz's (both plush luxery rides) you can have both. Lexus hasn't caught up to that yet...or at least mine hasn't. So I just want to see if I can make the ride a bit more like I want. I'm sure others feel the same... Besides, I can't afford to have TWO nice rides!!
  22. I have been spending entirely too much time researching tires for 18" after market rims and I keep getting differing views on the same tires. So if anyone has some real life experience with tires for 18" rims it would help. Basically, I've been looking at Pirelli PZero Nero M&S , Continental ExtremeContact, Nitto's, Falken's and Sumitomo's. The only one's that I've read up on are the Continental's and the Pirelli's. All the other one's are part of "wheel and Tire packages" from various websites or local wheel dealers. One local guy here kept going on so much about the Sumitomo's it made me think he was gettin a kick back from them or something. So I'm a little skeptical since I can't find anything on the net. Anyway, my criteria is basically: good all-season handling, pretty good tread wear, quietness, and most importantly price. I didn't want to go over $200 for a tire. Any suggestions would help, Thanks.
  23. I'm in the same boat as you...so I'm anxious to see what people have to say also. I've read about everything from torque converter, rear slip differnential, to turbo charger...but I've never seen a concensus on which one is better to improve overall driving speed and "quickness". We should start a poll or something...
  24. Let me get this straight...you put wax on the windows??? Never heard of that one... And Rain-X worked fine for me...although I don't use it anymore.
