  1. Anybody? What kind of compression do you guys have?
  2. Most people go with the magnaflow mufflers, as far as piping goes, Ive heard increasing the size will make you lose alot of low end torque, I would just keep the stock piping if I was you. Maybe eliminate the catalytic converters if you don't mind not being legal. I think I'm going to go with hks mufflers and test pipes instead of cats when I do mine.
  3. For the sc400 you don't have many options in the U.S., the only full catback system I can find is the Jic Sparten, and it retails for around 1200 usd. A few other companys make rear section, like borla. Or you can go to an exhaust shop and get it custom, that seems to be what most people do.
  4. Hey guys, just tested my compression, it very good, around 235-240 psi all the way across. I'm kinda wondering why my fsm says it should be around 180 psi though? Is this normal? BTW, this is for a stock 1uz-fe.
  5. Hey, email me at damesta@earthlink.net, I have a pdf I can send you with a pic. Thanks.
  6. Hey guys, I need a solenoid from the a340e transmission from a 92-2000 sc400. I looked into getting a new one but its very expensive. Does anyone have a blown tranny or anything like that laying around that you could pull a solenoid off of for me. I will of course pay you for your troubles. Post or email me at damesta@earthlink.net if you can help.
  7. I have a set for sale on ebay right now, here: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAP...TRK%3AMESE%3AIT
  8. Like the title says, just wondering because I need quite a few parts, email me at damesta@earthlink.net if you can help.
  9. Thanks for the info, I finally got ahold of an fsm and went through the troubleshooting procedure, no leaks. I found the Trac code 43 too, which means there is a malfunction in the either the Trac ecu or the ABS/Trac ecu or the circuit between them. I did their voltage test on the trac ecu and got 5.8 volts were they say I should be getting 12 to 14 volts. So, I guess the Trac ecu needs to be replaced. I'm going to head to the junkyard tomarrow and try to find a used Trac ecu and a used ABS/Trac ecu to swap in. Hopefully that will work, if not, the traction actuator is getting swapped, thats the only other thing it could be. I'm hoping the abs code 54 was just a side effect of the malfunction, the fsm says that I should try to fix the code 43 first and see if that takes care of the code 54 as well. I'll update this as soon as theres any progress. BTW-If anyones parting out and sc400 or sc300 email me at damesta@earthlink.net , there are a bunch of parts that I need.
  10. Wow, huge thanks to kmyose, got the whole fsm in a few hours for 10 bucks, this site is awsome. https://techinfo.toyota.com/
  11. Update again: Let it sit overnight and went and started it up again, the TRAC light came back on in about 30 seconds, anybody have any ideas?
  12. You might want to check the alternator if the ps pump was leaking on it, just a thought.
  13. Update: I reset the ecu as detailed here: http://web.ace.net.au/soarer/ecu_reset.html And then went and drove it hard for about 30 minutes with the traction control on, I lost traction at least 10 times and the traction control worked (trac light was blinking) and the trac light error hasn't come back on yet. Maybe I'll get lucky and it will stay like this, we'll see.
  14. Its not that much work, Ive done it on other cars before, pretty much just re-routing lines. I really don't like the feel of abs, I don't feel like I have full control of the car with them.
  15. Just wondering if anyones ever done this and whats involved? Is it possible to just remove the abs components and re-route the brake lines? Any info or links would be appreciated.
  16. Hey guys, got my sc400 last week, its pretty clean but I'm trying to tune it up a little a fix a few problems. I have the common ps pump leak which will be fixed soon but I'm also getting an abs/trac diagnostic error code. Heres what its doing, the abs light never comes on but the trac light usually does. Sometimes the trac light won't come on at all if I turn the traction control off before I drive the car. I did the diagnostic check and the trac light blinks code 43, I have no clue what that means, I can't find that code mentioned anywhere. The ABS light light blinks a 54 which means "excessive frequency in trac pump". Does anyone have any experience with this? And does anyone one know if the trac pump and abs pumps are the same thing? I can't seem to find any info on the trac pump. Any help will be greatley appreciated. The car drives fine, no problems that Ive noticed. BTW, if anyone has any info on straight up removing traction control and abs I would actuall rather do that, has anyone ever done that on an sc400?
  17. Hey guys, I'm about to pick up an sc400 and just wanted to check on some wheel offsets with you guys. The wheels I want are 17x7 +35 front and 17x8 +35 rear. Would these fit ok? Ive done a little research and it looks like it will be a little aggressive but seems like it would work fine with a little negative camber. Does anyone have any opinions or reccomendations on tire size to run with these? Any help is greatley appreciated. Thanks
