  1. Hi Em91: I have a 93 LS400 with 132K miles, and I experienced the same problem. Did you finally got it fixed ? BR, V.
  2. Hi Gurus: It was my fault that I created a deep dent on front panel over the pessager side. I sent it to the 'dent busters' (to pop the dent) but no luck. I guess the last resort is sent to the body shop to sand and paint it. Although it will be paint with matching Lexus color, I fear that this will de-value my car. Also, the paint job will not last as long as the original paint from the factory.... Please share your opinion/experience. BR, V.
  3. Just went to Lexus of Austin. Here is the part info.: Bulb with Socket 83119-24670. I wonder there is a after market part that has longer lasting life than this one ? BR, V. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  4. Hi Steven: That's should be no problem, since I've taken out the cluster from my '93 LS400. Estimate a couple hours of work. One question I have is will the airbag light be on after I put it back together ? This happens on the LS400 and I need to do a wire dance on it to turn it off. I will post pictures of step-by-step along with Steve's instructions (to his credit) after I got it fixed. Hopefully I can get to it this weekend. BR, V.
  5. Hi All: I owned a '99 RX300 and 'D' light on the Instrumental Panel is out for the second time. First time was fixed by the dealer under warranty. I guess I need to fix it myself this time. Anyone have done it before ? Please share your experience.... BR, V.
  6. Hi Obergc: How much did you spent on these 2 meters ? I heard from someone it cost about $500 a piece... Yikes! Lexus Tech claimed that they have a fix, but has anyone use them before ? http://www.lexustech.com/problems.htm BR, V. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  7. Hi Proud Lexus Owner: I own a '93 Lexus LS400 and I love my car. I've been noticing this problem on the instrumental panel for 2 years now, and I wonder if anyone has the same experience: Speedometer and RPM meter problem: i. works OK during Winter months, but not Summer. Lived in Central Texas ii. when weather gets warmer, both meters will not move while driving in the morning. iii. Sometimes the RPM meter will 'jump' up and back to normal after 10 mins of driving. iv. Sometimes both meters will work magically when driving home in the evening. v. If I get inpatient, I hit the dash board real hard and RPM meter respond first, and Speedometer will respond second, after I hit harder. vi. BTW, my gas gauge is working fine, and the backlight (on the needles) is working also. Anyone encounter the same problem as mine and how do you go about solving it ? Please share your experience.... BR, V.
  8. I finally solved this backlight indicator puzzle. My machanic inspected and replaced all the dead bulbs in the back - tail lights, brake lights, and license plate lights and the indicator still on. I walked around the car and noticed that 2 passenger side light were out too. Changed those, and viola! The backlight indicator was gone. What amazed/confused me is that the backlight indicator covers the bulbs condition for the whole car not just the back. Problem solved! 9. Hi Warriors: I owned a '93 LS400 and '99 RX300, I like the Traction Control feature that my RX300 has and I was wondering if anyone have the experience installing one on the '93 LS ? BR, V.
  10. The problem is when I take out the screws, I am not sure thus I don't want to break the bulb cover. Any ideas ? I should have attach a picture of it....
  11. That's is! It only happen (backlight indicator) when I turn on my headlights, which will turn on the license plate lights. Can't open the cover without damaging it..Argh! I wonder if there is a Chilton's Auto Repair Manuals for LS400 ? BR, V.
  12. Hi All: I owned a '94 LS400 and the Backlight Indicator @ Instrumental Panel is constantly on. I check the taillights and all are on OK. These are a few suggestions I gathered from my research: i. check brake lights ii. removing the bulbs and clean the connectors if you have any other ideas, please feel free to drop a note... BR, Vincent
  13. Anyone got gas from Sam's Club ? I've been using 87 Octane from Sam's for the last 7 yrs on both of my Lexus without any problems. B) V.
