  1. I recently rotated my tires & read somewhere that I need to reset the tire pressure monitor. Can anyone help me in doing this chore please. I can not find any reset button & when going through the on screen settings I do not see where that is done. Thanks PS: ES 350/2016
  2. If both the front & back brake pads were installed at the same time, which set would normally wear out first or do both wear out reasonably equal? Thanks
  3. Hi.......I am thinking of doing a DIY brake pad & rotor replacement on both front & back on my ES 350/2016. Does anyone have the torque specs for doing this job & any advice or tutorials that might be useful in doing this job? Thanks
  4. I just change my old tires for new Michelin Defenders. The tire I replaced them for were Michelin Pilots & I'm sure the Pilots were the OEM tires. The sticker on the drivers door says to set the psi to 33 & I believe the same psi was listed on the sidewall of the Pilots. I bought the new Defenders at Costco & when I drove off the lot & checked the tire pressure using the onboard menu, the pressure on all 4 tires was 38. The sidewall on the Defenders says 44 psi. What does everyone think I should set the tire psi to on these Michelin Defenders? Thanks
  5. It looks like the oil pan plug/washer was the culprit. Backed the car out of the garage today & so far no leak. Thanks for all your comments.
  6. He showed me the plug with the old washer still on & it looked to me to be more of a transparent plastic material.
  7. So took the car back to Jiffy Lube today, they now say that the oil pan drain plug gasket was warn/split so they replaced the gasket. I hope that solves the leak. I will let you know.
  8. No I haven't. It would be difficult for me to get under the car to look but I would expect that if that was the case Jiffy Lube would/should have said as much when I took it back to them with my complaint. They said it was an o ring that had been damaged. They said they replaced the o ring & I was good to go. Unfortunately it is still leaking. Thanks
  9. It is still leaking approximately the same amount today as 6 days ago so I'm thinking it is not residual anymore.
  10. I got an oil change Dec 31 at a Jiffy Lube. The next day when I pulled my 2016 ES 350 out of the driveway I noticed a 6 to 8 inch long by inch & a half wide oil leak on my garage floor on the passenger side. I wiped the oil up & hoped that the stain was just from some residual spill from the oil change. The next day after backing the car out of the garage, the same size leak was back so I realized it was more than just some residual oil from the oil change. I took the car back to Jiffy Lube & they removed the engine oil filter cap & then told me that the rubber ring had been pinched. They put a new (the old filter was 3 days old) filter into the canister, removed & replaced the ring & screwed the cap back on. Well I still have an oil leak coming from the area of the engine oil filter. It is not as large as the original leak big still a leak nonetheless. I have added 3 pics that I took of the spills. The one pic shows the size of the stain that I wiped up on the first day along with the leak the next day that I did not wipe up before taking the pic. The other pic is the size of the leak after taking the car back to Jiffy Lube. It is much smaller but still there. The 3rd pic is with a house key & key chain to give some idea on the size of the stains using the house key as perspective. Any suggestions or ideas? Thanks
  11. I was told on another web site that the minimum for the fronts is 25mm & the rear is 8.5mm.
  12. Can anyone tell me the minimum measurement for both back & front rotors for my ES 350 2016 & also can I measure the rotors without removing them? Thanks
  13. I just had my tires rotated & the owners manual (pg 437) says to initialize the "tire pressure warning system". On (pg 438) it says to "Press & hold the tire pressure warning reset switch." The picture shows (pg 438) the switch somewhere under the steering column but I can't seem to find it. Has anyone done this job & if so can you please tell me where to find this switch? thanks
  14. Can anyone tell me if tires should be rotated from front to back or front right to back left or front right to front left? I could also use some advice on what part of the undercarriage to rest the car jack stand on? Also does anyone know the torque spec for the lug nuts? Thanks
  15. So I just did a DIY engine oil & oil filter change on my 2004 ES330. Is it OK to hand tighten the engine oil filter or does it need more force then just hand tightening? Thanks
  16. Thanks, I will likely just leave it alone. Looks to complicated for a light that does not seem to serve much of a function.
  17. I am plagiarizing this photo from another thread (hope you don't mind). My left (as you look at picture) parking light has burnt out (I'm assuming). I have searched google for a replacement video but can only find videos for replacing head lights. It does not look like the parking lights are accessible by the same route as the head lights. Can anyone lead me in the right direction on changing the left parking light? thanks PS: 2004 ES 330
  18. Thanks for your reply sadclown, as you can read in my above posts, I did give your suggestion a shot but the smell is still very strong. I'm guessing there is more nest somewhere in the ductwork.
  19. Hi Pupule7 Thanks for your reply. As I mentioned in post #5, at the suggestion of another member I did find & replace the cabin air filter but the smell while a lot better is still bad. I leave my car in a garage all winter while away & a family of mice (I'm guessing) made a home in the duct work & the urine & crap has penetrated stuff. I have no idea where they got entry to the ductwork. After cleaning out the cavity all around where the cabin air filter slides into, I put a new cabin air filter in & after driving for just an hour or so I then removed the hour new cabin air filter & it stunk like hell already. I will give your Lysol suggestion a try but at $30 a pop for a cabin air filter, I will not replace it again until I can stop the bad smell.
  20. Yes that sounds like it makes the most sense. Thanks
  21. So after cleaning out the mess as best I could it still smells bad whenever the fan is on. I took it to a very good car detailer & explained my issue & he told me the only way to get rid of the smell was to completely remove the dashboard which is the only way to get to the air ducts. He suggested to take it to a Lexus dealer as they would have the knowledge for this. He said removing the dashboard is a big job. I'm not a happy camper!
