  1. WHAT I think you misread something there!! You keep that on for snowy days as it helps for taking off in the slick stuff by taking off in 2nd gear and trust me it works really well....... Im going to have to read my manual on what you just said---but that is wrong!! ← Why don't you go read your manual before making your comments. On both page 393 and 404 of the owner's manual, "USE THIS MODE WHEN STARTING YOUR VEHICLE IN ICE AND SNOW" And it was never mentioned that you need to turn on while driving while I have spoken to numerous drivers aggreed that the car will get more slippery when the mode is on!! Moreover, a Lexus technician has confirmed the above!!!!
  2. You need to turn off your ECT snow mode which is only designed for starting up the engine during cool days in accordance to the owner's manual.
  3. The side mirror thing is normal. I also noticed the squeak sound from the driver seat when I got a RX loaner from the dealer which was very noticable. Looks like somthing doing with the spring of the seat, extremely worried that it will happen to my RX. Just cross my finger!!!
  4. Mine 04 RX330 has experienced the same problem and it took me 3 times to the dealer and now finally fixed it. This is what they did: Remove panels-insulated and adjusted the stricker. They told me it was the stricker for the real power door which make the cracking noise. After they adjusted it and add lub. now the noise is gone. Hope is helpful for you guys.
  5. For your information, the maximam speed for RX 330 is set @110 miles and you cannot go further than that cause it will cut the gas automatically.
  6. We are talking about the correct way to disable the DRL here without affecting the high beams instead of just rip out the high beams bulbs. Apparently, no one knows how to do it properly but providing worthless comments.
  7. cant find the DRL transformer under the battery of my RX330. Anyone knows where it located??
  8. This information works for lx470's up to 2002, it is up to you to check if the wiring for your vehicle is the same. you can watch dvd's on the navigation screen with a simple 15 minute fix. pull the wood panel off from the center of the dash. there are two clips towards the outside of the top of the panel and two about 6 inches down on the sides. remove the electric clock connection on the bottom of the panel and set aside. remove the four screws holding the navigation screen. behind the temp up and down button there is a grey connector. locate and cut the violet wire 2" from the unit. shrink wrap or tape off these wires. this elimimate the speed sensor turning off the video. in the same connector, locate and cut the red wire with the white stripe 4-5" from the unit. shrink wrap or tape off the end that goes to the wiring harness. strip the end coming from the unit and ground it to the top left screw holding the unit in the metal frame. this simulates the emergency brake being on. slip everthing back together and only watch videos while moving ONLY IF YOU ARE THE PASSENGER! .
  9. Any idea how to do it for the 330??
  10. Regarding to the rear rattle which sounds like cracking noise, I have gone to the dealer for 3 occasion trying to fix the problem. Finally, they found out is the stricker at the back connect to the real power door which caused the problem and they adjusted it now the rattle is gone.
  11. I did it myself just following the instruction from the owner's manual.
  12. No doubt about that there is a transmission lag when you accelerate but to me is not a big issue. I have been driven it to its maximum speed @110 and never encounter the transmission shift to netural for the past 12 months. From my experience when you need to accelerate you need to release your gas pedal completely and step on it gradually instead of just hit it hard (kick down). To me this is not a problem cause I used to drive a manual transmission and this is the procedure to shift. There is another way is to shift it manually from D to 4 or 3 and the transmission is quite responsive under this way.
  13. Thought some of you would be interested in this article regarding the transmission hesitation issue. http://www.post-gazette.com/pg/04345/424551.stm
  14. thats might be the difference between 04 and 05 models while lexus is still using the 04 manual.
  15. SW03ES, During my trip from Los Angeles to Vegas or SFO, I can easily go up to 130 miles with my other car and is pretty safe. Nowadays even Toyota Corolla or Honda Civic can both go over 110 easily. So please stick to my question, how to by pass the speed limit instead of making comments out of the subject. My RX is with the peformance package which can lower the suspension and provides more stability than others and it is just not right to set the limit so low @ 110 as compare to GX which can go over 130 miles per hour. ColinBarber, Your advises are good but can u provide more information how to order those??
  16. Just wodering is there a way to by-pass the speed limit @110 miles per hr. cause when I was @110 the car is still very stable and for sure it can go further. It just dont feel right that the gas cut off at the early stage @ 110. The tte V-Max kit looks good but is in German and cant understand it and dont know how to order. Is there a simple way to do it??
  17. Does anyone notice that the maximum speed for RX330 is @ 110 miles per hour, after that the car will cut off the gas and wouldnt go further than 110. Is there a by-pass related to the cut off limit @110??
