  2. I know I'm new to the board here, but this was right up my alley since I have an E36 M3 and the SC. Anyway, I won't go through all the "The M3 is Gods gift to the world and if you don't buy one you're a moron." (that's what you will typically get on the E46 and E36 M3 forum), becuse frankly I don't believe that at all. I do think the M3 is a much better race car than the SC could ever possibly be. And the M3 does have features that are not present in the SC, but as far as a comfortable ride, the SC has the M3 beat. Funny thing is that you can easily get the S50 and S52 motor to over 420 horsepower with a Dinan Super Charger and a RMS After Cooler. The S50 (95-96) and S52 (97-99) are probably the most bullet-proof motors BMW has ever made. Funny that some people were saying to get the E46 M3 with the S54 motor. That is proving every day to be one of the most unreliable motors BMW has ever built. You can't put a race motor in a street car and expect it will last 100k without being rebuilt if you drive it hard. Anyway, my 2 cents about the BMW M3 vs the Lexus SC. Two totally different cars typically meant for two totally different kind of people. Good luck with your search.
  3. I know you were just having fun with the comment. I actually like this board as much as the Audi board I use a lot. The one I can't stand is the M3 forum (any of them). I've never seen anything so inmature in my life. I don't care if you have a Lambo Gallardo, it still isn't as good as an M3 to those guys. And if you think I'm kidding, I'm not. That discussion actually came up. The guys on that forum think their God's gift to the world. Needless to say, that's one forum I don't use unless I absolutely have to. The Audi forum, E52 forum, and apparently this forum have people who actually want to help others out and have fun at the same time. I will try out Mungrin's suggestion today, but my guess is that my legs will start to cramp. We'll see though. Thanks for the help and thanks for the smart-!Removed! answer earlier. I got a good laugh out of it. And that's what life is about. Having a good time. :D
  4. Well, it does rain and snow here, so that idea, while interesting is not a very viable solution. :D As for the M3, it has everything Dinan has to offer for it, but the supercharger, and the S4 still runs circles around it. ;) Thanks for the response and I will still be looking for a way to lower the seat. :(
  5. Hello all. A quick story about how I came to be a Lexus owner, and then a couple of questions to see if someone might be able to help me. I am a current BMW (E36 M3 and E52) and Audi (2004 S4) owner and came to own my 1993 SC400 this Saturday when a very good friend told me he was trading it for a 2005 Audi A6 3.2. The SC400 only has 56,000 miles on it and is miticulously maintained. I stilll don't know the color, but it looks like Porsche's Seal Gray. Anyway, he told me what he was getting for it and I told him that I would be interested in owning it for that and that way it would stay within our community. As far as the performance of the SC400 I would say it is meager at best when compared to the German cars I own. Then again, I don't remember Audi or BMW making a car this nice in 1993, so I am happy with the performance. I intend to keep the car for quite a while and will be keeping up with the maintanance on a timely basis. I am already taking it in next week for the 60k service and new rotors and pads. I just changed the oil over to Mobil 1 5w30 yesterday and will continue to make sure the car is in perfect shape. I think the only thing that is absolutely driving me up the wall is the seating position. Lets face it, there is no lateral support on these things, but I don't really care about that. What I do care about is that my head is always touching the headliner of the car, and the seat is positioned in its lowest setting. :cries: It also has about an inch of play when I accelerate where the seat back moves (I am guessing that is a seat base motor, but don't know anything about Lexus). My question is this, is there anything I can do to make the seat go lower, or am I going to have to replace the driver's seat with a Sparco or Recaro seat. I would really prefer not to replace the seat, as I am going to try and leave the car as stock looking as possible. Any help on this subject would be greatly appreciated. Thanks again, and I am very happy to be a Lexus owner.
