I have the dragon torque converter in my SC400 for what is going on 4 years... It's not like you have to have a feather foot at launch just the throttle is more responsive..You can still have very mellow smoothe takeoffs while holding coffee in your hands... It's a pleasant mod and probably the best...

Well compared to a PT cruiser my mountain bike would seem fast... Yeah the 400H is still a fully working 4.0 Lexus V8 motor sitting under the hood..It should move some... It's sounds like you are really enjoying this ride...Congrats...

No it will actually make the tranny last longer... Why you may ask... The torque converter basically transfers the engine torque power to the drive train more aggressively... This allows the transmission less clutch slippage at launch which actually will create less wear on the tranny itself... Shifts while moving remain the same.. The torque converter will last longer too because it locks up faster and less wear will happen on that as well... The torque converter is only good for the car... You may wear out the drive shaft joints and transmission and engine mounts a bit faster just because of the more sudden off the line power that the car has to deal with... Maybe wear out your rear tires faster too from burning out from a dead stop... ;)

Hmmm? A fast H400 hybrid, now that would be interesting indeed... I wouldn't even try to modify an Suv hybrid.. I guess high flowing exhaust mods.. Mufflers, headers, pipes, and high flow cats.. Introduce a high flowing cold air intake and that's about it...

It's nice, but I would never swap a 2jz into an SC400... Why you ask? The original early model 1uz-fe V8's are an outstanding motor and can handle upto 500whp..The automatic transmissions are the achillies heal of the SC400's.. So a 2jz mated with the SC400 automatic tranny just doesn't make sense to me... Those automatic trannies snap and give up the ghost around 350-400whp.. I know because I blew mine twice already... The 2jz motor when boosted just starts to warm up around those power levels... I would consider the 2JZ in an SC300 manual...Still you would need to swap in the V160, or R154 trannies to support the big power... The 2JZ's are a bit gutless at launch which most people don't know and or consider.....The only negative to the 2jz's...However, they do flow well though when the rpms get moving...

What about performance mods? Cosmetic's are nice, but the real fun is when you hit the gas and something wicked happens.. ;)

The 400's can still be modified to make 400whp... It's got to be the Sc400 all day long... The Sc300's offer the manual transmission and that is the only bonus when modifying... Keeping it Stock, I would still go with the SC400, but would have to get a torque converter change definetely... They are just so doggish out of the gates..SC4's and SC3's..

Real talk from the heart - You know it's kinda sad that we all gather info. from various sources but do not know for %100 fact whether or not the reports we recieve are true and accurate entirely...We don't trust in our leaders to some degree, we don't trust in our government to some degree, we don't trust in our leaders in a sense to tell us the truth about these war efforts and political issues.... So in reality all this talk is just speculation in a sense amounst us... You almost need to close a blind eye to everything and just support our country and leaders decisions as we voted these guys in office to begin with.. If you don't, you are always going to be faced with the thoughts of consperiousy theories, deception in office, coruption, etc..... Still all the while you will never know for sure what to believe.. How good is that? I just have to go alone with our leaders decisions and back them and pray that all their decisions are for a good and legitamate cause... This is why I am pro USA, Government, and Leadership... Am I so wrong in thinking this way?

This is what makes our country so great, is the fact that we will defend and come to the rescue of the needy at times... We went to war against Iraq not only to liberate it's people but for many reasons as I previously mentioned... We saw Iraq as a potential future threat to us and our interests in the Middle East... Since we are the number #1 world power we need to set the precedence or else who will?... However, I do agree with you when saying the USA cannot use it's military to fix genocide or all problems in every country...However, when that evil poses a future threat to the USA then the military does need to step up and show... Much like the so thought situation in Iraq... We thought Iraq was a bigger threat then maybe they really were, but still a threat never the less... Even though nukes were never found in Iraq trying to liberate it's people and outsting Saddam is still a just cause.... We the people should support our war efforts regardless of what we "may think, but not know for certain in regards to the reasons why". Supporting our efforts while at war may just help with the moral of our soldiers and leaders and aid in our efforts to win it.... Those are the guys that deserve our best, the troops in Iraq regardless of our leaders decisions...
