  1. 'GXRemorse' dont buy any extended warranties, this will be automatically covered if they ever find a solution. I am working with a lemon attorney now to get a full refund for this clunky Lexus BUYERS BEWARE THAT THIS CAR HAS A DRIVESHAFT CLUNK PROBLEM THAT WILL MAKE YOU SICK, THIS HAS NOT BEEN FIXED AT ALL FOR ANY YEAR BCUZ THE ENGINEERS ARE EITHER STUPID OR MANAGEMENT DOES NOT CARE BCUZ THERE ARE NOT ENOUGH BUYERS THAT HAVE COMPLAINED ABOUT THIS YET. EVERYONE FIND A LEMON LAW ATTORNEY, THEY ARE FREE AND WILL HELP YOU GET YOUR MONEY BACK FOR THIS BULL CRAP. THE PROBLEM WILL NOT GO AWAY, I HAVE 46000 MILES, SHOULD I WAIT UNTIL 100K YOU THINK??

I have the clunk and unfortunately since the dealers and useless Lexus corporate customer service denies it is a problem and labels it as a "charateristic" of the truck, there does not seem much we the consumers can do except SELL THE TRUCK OR LIVE WITH THIS STANDARD "FEATURE". SHAME ON LEXUS FOR NOT FIXING THIS CLUNKY DRIVESHAFT, I'LL NEVER BUY A LEXUS AGAIN, I HOPE GX470 SHOPPERS LEARN TO STAY AWAY FROM THIS TRUCK.
  3. interesting point, but that would have been easy to diagnose. My GX470 has 40,000 miles now and the thump/clunk/kick has worsened again. The Lexus Customer Service 800# is a waste of time, it takes 2 weeks for a "supervisor" to return your call and asks you to describe the problem without ever reading/researching your complaint. That is bull*BLEEP*. LEXUS SUCKS! THEY WONT EVEN ADMIT THIS IS A PROBLEM/DEFECT, THEY CLAIM ALL SUVs HAVE THIS "CHARACTERISTIC" !!!! SHOPPERS, DO NOT BUY THIS SUV UNTIL THIS DEFECT IS FIXED, EVERYONE WILL LIE TO YOU AND CLAIM THERE IS NO ISSUE. TRUST A BUYER/DRIVER WHO ACTUALLY SPENT THE $ TO BUY THIS SUV OVER A SALESMAN WHO HAS TO SELL A CAR OR A COMPANY WHO WILL LIE TO PROTECT THEIR IMAGE. THANKS FOR READING...I FELT LIKE VENTING AGAIN AFTER BEING AWAY FROM THIS SITE FOR MONTHS.

  5. can we burn audio tracks onto a blank DVD disk then listen to the music files using our DVD player? I am disappointed that this Mark Levinson system does not support mp3s!!! u can buy most aftermarket dvd players which support all types of files......
  6. what! it does not play mp3s....when u burned ur mp3s to CD, it must have converted them to WAV files..... a good way to verify this, is to ask you, do u have more than 20 tracks/songs on this CD of yours?
  7. do u smell anything from them??? ← No, not really, i have not smelled anything.... i also realized that i must firmly (really firmly) hold down the brake when changing gears from reverse to drive to stop a loud noise, a screechy high pitch metal grinding squeeky noise....hard to put in words!
  8. hello, my brakes do not feel good, but the dealer states that its normal, nothing wrong, but i feel somethin is wrong...air leak maybe... is there a recall or alert on this issue?
  9. Who says that this thump driveshaft problem is occurring on a few GX470s. They are all designed the same, so they should all have this issue. Mine has 33,000 miles, perhaps it worsens or arises or occurs more frequently and seriously with increased mileage. My thump happens 75% of the time when i come near a stop, the driveshaft has a problem sliding smoothly so theres a thump noise and feel as it forces itself in the other position.
  10. This is ridiculous, I am warning shoppers/buyers not to buy this GX470 as this driveshaft thump totally ruins the ride, feel, quality. The mechanic test drove my truck and said this is normal for most SUVs with this type of rear suspension. This is absurd, they are denying it is a design problem. I request that all current owners please join and make a concerted effort for Lexus to take some positive action, either by compensating us, allowing us to trade this defective SUV, or at the very least publicly apologizing and promising to provide a solution to this defective driveshaft design. We did not pay around $50,000 to deserve such a headache and regrettable mistake. Please reply to this message by providing your name and vin # perhaps so we can track all the owners with this problem then forward it to Lexus. We should even consult with an attorney for a possible class-action lawsuit as Lexus corporate is denying that there is a problem. My email is yamauf@aol.com
