  1. I see many posts on here about replacing the LCA bushings. I assume I need 4 (2 each side). Where is the best place to purchase (price and quality) and about how much should I expect to pay to have them replaced. Thanks!
  2. I currently own a '95 SC400. I am moving cross country and wanted rent a trailer to move everything. My goal is to sell all my furniture and move the basics. I plan to rent the smallest trailer from Uhaul. The manual states the car can handle 1,600 lbs. Has anyone towed anything, how does the car handle the weight? Any advice, since this will be such a long trip, I want to make sure I cover all my bases before I go. THANKS!
  3. Sounds likes load of bull from the mechanic. No mechanic is that stupid. I am acutally surprised the car would run. If it did, I would think the engine would run really rough if deisel was in it. White smoke is ussually caused by coolant getting into the combustion chamber and burning off. It can be a very serious problem, it can just be lack of maintenance on the car or old oil. I don't think this an uncommon problem with older cars. Just beware of the severity of the smoke, if it's pouring out as you drive, I would definately not buy the car or get another mechanic to look at it. A cracked headgasket can be a leading contributor to this problem. (Sorry eddited this from the first post, I always get the two backwards)
  4. My car is very sluggish from 0 to 10 mph, once the RPMs get above 2500, it starts to move. I haven't done any mods (intake/exhaust) or really anything to the stock engine. I assume an intake would help trememdously. I have 115k, car runs great otherwise. Any suggestions. (would an ECU reset help with this?) I was also curious, has anyone attempted to swap out the auto trans for a manual in the 400? Can it be done, just curious, I figure this cost vs. reward may not be worth it.
  5. I noticed that when I pulled my speakers out. I assumed that the 6.5 space was for the base stereo (stereo without the rear sub). I was contemplating upgrading to the 6.5, but didn't want to ruin the rear deck. My guess is that car frame was cut to accomodate both sizes without a lot of work and you have to cut out the cardboard of rear deck. I found the 4.5 sound good, the sub makes up for their lack of base. Just getting the speakers out was enough work for me. If you are in to it, the extra effort may be worth it, but not for me.
  6. 99 Civic Si It was stolen, then bought the SC400 from my dad.
  7. Unfortunately it is on driver side. I figured it would require me going in through the wheel well, was hoping that I could somehow get to the bulb from the front. Thanks for the info!!!
  8. sounds just like the problem I have been having, I actually have an appt scheduled for later this week to look at it. My problem occurs right around 40 mph, when I am hard on the gas, I notice nothing, but only when I real soft on the gas, that's when I notice it. Very annyoing!! I was thinking it might CV joints as well, but my understanding is that a rear wheel drive car doesn't have CV joints. In any case, once I take my car in, I will post what the problem was.
  9. Anyone know how to replace the light bulb inside of 95 SC400 fog light? Before I spend four hours trying to figure it out, I was looking for some guidance. Any direction is appreciated!
  10. Where are you getting them reconed? I kind of figured getting used ones will be beat to hell, but it's still better than replacing then entire system. Let me know how it sounds. Thanks
  11. I am new to the site, so I wasn't familiar with the "buy sell" forum, will check that out. Ebay has them from time to time. Ebay has speakers from time to time.
  12. Does anyone know where I can find the speakers for a '95 SC 400?, specifically the two rear speakers (but not the sub).
