  1. Sorry to break the news to you Scott, but no such firmware version is on its way. The Verizon store staff are telling you that lie so you don't return your v710 during the "full refund and no service obligation" period.
  2. FYI, there's a TSB for the 2004 LS430 relating to transmission tip-in (or something like that) which improves the responsiveness of the car to throttle application.
  3. I have an 04 LS and found it to be remarkably effective in snow this past winter, even with the OEM all-season radials. The traction control has a special "snow" setting to prevent your rear wheels from slipping even if you stomp on the accelerator, and the stability control does a great job keeping the car going where you want it to go even, at higher speeds. Using snow tires can only make the car better in the snow. The biggest problem relative to an SUV is the low ride clearance, which means you *will* get stuck when the snow accumulation is sufficiently higher than your ground clearance. But you should be okay in your LS if you stick to plowed roads.
  4. Is your LX470 or LS430 navigation system infected with a computer virus? According to this article http://www.infosecnews.com/news/index.cfm?...d&newsType=News it has already happened to some of us. "Lexus cars may be vulnerable to viruses that infect them via mobile phones. Landcruiser 100 models LX470 and LS430 have been discovered with infected operating systems that transfer within a range of 15 feet.... It is understood the virus could affect the navigation system of the Lexus models, it transfers onto them via a Bluetooth mobile phone connection." Although SC Magazine appears to be a reputable source, the article itself seems more alarmist than factual. Do you know anyone whose Lexus was infected with a computer virus? Or is this just more fear mongering from the anti-virus software companies?
  5. Has anyone gotten the 2004 Navigation update to work?
  6. Direct link to LEXUS 2004 DVD-Based Navigation System Update DATA 2004 ver.1 The retail price is supposed to be $350, so $288 isn't so bad. Direct link to list of changes P.S. My attempt to order online failed, so I ordered the part from Sewell Lexus by calling 214-352-8100 and asking for Darryl in parts.
  7. I hear you, Mike. My '04 LS430 is in for the recall service (transmission and fuel pump replacement) and I have an Rx330 loaner. What a difference in noise, ride quality, handling, and power.... I'm surprised at how much I miss the silent smooth ride of my LS.
