  1. I've got a 2010 ES, too and switched to Mobil 1 also. On the subject of XM nav & weather, I disagree with liking the service. After 3 months free and 1 month paying I dropped the service. I've got about 10000miles which includes local driving mostly NJ, NY, CT, DE, PA + a long car trip from Jersey to western Canada and was disgusted with XM nav and disappointed in XM weather for the following reasons: 1 Small traffic jams that I cruised thru at 20-40mph were noted but info on major stuff that hung me at 0-5mph for 1/2 hour or more where never provided. Also numerous minor traffic construction delays were not provided and/or said to be in the wrong location. 2 Weather warnings were sometimes wrong and the display sucks. harryn
  2. No, you can take the whole thing off to expose the filter right away. Yours should unscrew just like my 2010 using special wrench Assenmacher AST Toyota/Lexus oil filter wrench TOY 640/09228-06501 - 64mm. Note that you have to have something good sized underneath to catch about 1/3 of a quart of splashing / dripping oil; my favorite is an old roasting tray. harryn
  3. My wife and I went to the NY auto show and sat only in cars we were interested in to determine seat comfort, leg room and other stuff that can be determined w/o a test ride. Among the group were the Buick Lacross and Lexus 350. Particularly for comfort reasons, the Lexus was our choice and we bought one w/ nav. After 2500 miles, gas mileage is quite good, tech system very nice, plenty of power but Bridgestone tires and mushy suspension can't handle it. Compared to our pontiacs and Maxima, it rolls too much and has very little rubber on the ground. The video says the Buick handling is no better. So my recommendation is as long as you're OK with mediocre handling, I think you'll like the Lexus. I'm sad that I can't recommend 'American' since we've owned/leased about 12 American cars and 4 foreign cars in our lifetime. harryn
  4. I have an interesting prospective on your tire question. That is, I have the exact Bridgestones on my 10 ES and the exact Michelin tire you are considering on my other car.......a leased 09 Mazda 6 four cylinder. The Mazda has gone through 2 New Jersey winters (some snow and ice and, of course some rain so far: 23000miles) w/ the Michelins with good results. Quite honestly, I think there are better and cheaper tires of other types/brands out there than either of these. Although I do not need tires on the 10 ES yet (2500 miles), I'm not at all impressed w/ the Bridgestones and plan to buy something else when they wear out. Suggest you consider Bridgestone Potenza G019 (my daughter has a similar size on her Acura); they are very noisy but very grippy. My son had great results with several sets of Sumitomo HTR A/S P01 in a larger size on his Pontiacs and they are very inexpensive. Both are directional tires, so, if you buy either of these, make sure your shop mounts them properly and rotates them left front / left rear, right front/right rear. Hope this gives you more insight. harryn
  5. Looking to upgrade at least the front anti-sway bar but can't find specs for 2010 ES. Toyota Camry is as follows for 2010: 24.2front/15.9rear tube for LE, XLE and 25.0/16.0 solid for SE. Are they the same as the SE or the XLE or something else and is any manufacturer making a kit to upgrade? Also are poly bushings available for stock and upgrade swaybars? harryn
  6. I'm concerned that knowing that the 2007 and 2010 ES are 'almost identical' may not be the safe answer for me if Lexus made even the most minor changes in the 2010 ES that reduce wheel clearances and cause a 235/50r17 (2 sizes wider than stock) to rub. Right now I'm considering 225/55r17 since the 2009 Camry had 225/50r18 as an option. harryn
  7. How's the accuracy of the speedometer compared to stock tires w/ 225/55-17 Michelin's on your 2010 ES and is the cornering noticably better? I was considering Sumotomo 225/55-17 HTR a/s P01 since the revs per mile are the same as my stock Bridgestone 215/55-17. harryn
  8. I just had a set installed a couple of weeks ago too. Went with 225/55-17.Just missed the $70 rebate. :cries: These tires are fantastic.Quiet and so smooth.
  9. Sounds great but do you know if this size tire will fit on my 2010 ES??????????// harryn
  10. I'm new in the club w/ a 2010 ES. I think the wheels look great but is it a wider tire (225 versus 215), wider wheel (stock is 7") and does your car handle better? harryn
