  1. When I rev the engine, I hear this “suction” sound. Is this normal?
  2. my ls430, Thank you for your reply. Is this something that I can do myself? or do I need a mechanic? I've read taht a vacuum problem can cause the check engine light to come on, which the case with my car. Thank you, Jacob
  3. Hi, My 96 LS400 seems to idle at about 400 RPM (the second tick mark from zero). This doesn't seem to cause any problem, but isn't 400 way too low even for a V-8. I've just had my plugs, wires, caps, roters and air filter replaced, so could it be the fuel filter? The funny thing is that it didn't do that before performing the tune-up :) Any ideas? thanks in advance Jacob
  4. 95LS400Bob, Could you tell me how to remove the nozzle, I have one that's badly cloged. I know how to remove the black rubber cover, but I don't know what to do next. Thank you, Jacob
  5. blake918, I bought the car from a small independent lot. I’d appreciate it if you can post the procedure for testing the oxygen sensors. Jacob
  6. blake918, Would a car pass the emissions test if it had bad catalytic converters? I think not. This makes me a little bit suspicious because the dealer had to run the car through the emissions test before selling it to me. Jacob
  7. Sark003, Thank you for your help. I guess replacing the mounts is not a hard thing to do. Jacob
  8. Hi everybody, I recently bought a ’96 LS400 with 113K on its odometer. The car sounds good except for two things the check engine light is on, and the engine vibrates around 2000 RPM. I took the car to a Toyota repair shop who told me that it needed two catalytic converters and two oxygen sensors which would cost me $2700. Any ideas of what might cause the engine to vibrate, and whether it has something to do with the catalytic converters and/or oxygen sensors? I would appreciate any help. Jacob
