Question can you go back to regular oil after using synthetic?
Trying to settle a dispute between me & a friend.
My friend claims once you use synthetic oil you must stay with synthetic oil is this true or false?
I my self do not know the answer but in keeping with tradition I take the opposite side of his opinions if for nothing else just to p-ss him off. {what are friends for}

I have the same problem with my 97 lx 450.
I think the CD changer is not pushing against the magazine door lock {white square left side} to release the CDs. I can release them manually if I use a screwdriver & push in the lock square at the right time, you can also eject the magazine by the same method & pressing the eject button.

I purchase this lx in late July & have not had the opportunity to go on a trip to see Highway mpg.
I am using K&N AIR & OIL FILTER in my LX450 with Mobil 1 Truck & SUV SAE 5W- 40 Sythetic thinking my milage would be better. I now getting 12.5 almost 1 mpg less .

The dealer uses a dry system. I had them clean a few spots, and it turned out great. I would check and see what they use.
Thanks for your help I will give it a try.

Headliners are really hard, you have to be sure not to get them too wet as that can lead to them falling down over time. I'd start with a foaming clenser like mentioned above and see how that works.
Thanks for your help I will give it a try.

I have used woolite carpet cleaner. You spray it on and it turns into foam, then you wipe off with a large damp spunge. Have a warm bucket of water near by to rinse.
Worked great for me.
Thanks for your help I will give it a try.

I purchase a 1997 Lx 450 in nice shape but notice the headliner has some spotted stains like coffee, soda or something. I tried cleaning it but still there I do not want to use something that will damage the headliner in the cleaning process.
Any advice is welcome.

You might want to try reving the engine to about 4-5 rpms while in park if you see the blue smoke while engine is reving it might be the very beging of the engine burning oil. If you see no smoke maybe it is nothing to worry about unless your blue smoke situation worsens.

I just don't think it's the gas, but how the gas is getting there. Maybe the injectors?
My thoughts too! I'd start with the fuel filter, and a fuel injector cleaning(motorvac) can only do good things too-no more than $150...no diy because it is done with a machine. I'd bet that the fuel filter is the culprit. If the car has been fine on regular for 2 years, I'd say that the '87 gas is ok(it'd cause valve pinging rather than no response).
O.k. Thanks for telling me about the fuel injectors. I had no idea they had to be done on a machine. I assume the car is EFI then is the reason? On my Honda Accord, I just have a fuel rail that you pop out the old, put in the new, and your on your way.
I found a fuel filter at O'reilly Auto Parts for around $16.00. AutoZone didn't have one at all, but they did have the directions for where it's located for removal. Sounds easy enough, but I wanted to make sure:
On your 1992 LEXUS LS400, the FUEL FILTER is:
UNDER VEHICLE, DRIVER SIDE, BELOW SEATING AREA,
FRONT OF REAR WHEELWELL, MOUNTED ON CHASSIS IN FUEL
LINE
Is that right? Also, I'm having a hell of a time finding a Chilton's Manual for this pig. Parts stores don't even carry them. any ideas there? Sorry for the hundred questions.
Just a guess
Look under the hood to see if your the overdrive cable is loose.
If it is loose thst might be your problem.
