rfcbuf Posted January 10, 2004 Posted January 10, 2004 Just purchased RX 330 and find it is difficult to see after dark when backing up. Lighting(back up lights) is very poor and visibility due to rear window tinting and window shape makes backing up "dangerous". Can more powerful back up lights be installed or has Lexus offered a solution?
wwest Posted January 10, 2004 Posted January 10, 2004 I bought 50W 12 volt halogen landscape bulbs and "manufactured" them into RX compatible "plugs".
Ervic Posted January 10, 2004 Posted January 10, 2004 This is where the rear view camera comes in handy. There is just enough light when put in reverse to get a pretty good camera shot.

Go to your local pep boys they should sell extra bright halogen back up lights, I always install these in my vehicles, they're much brighter than stock and help a lot. I have an Explorer I drove before the Lexus exclusively and the tinted windows on SUVs like that make backing up at night hard...
