98 Es 300 Checkengine

Hello, my checkengine light came on yesterday while i was driving to work. It has 77890 miles on it. I bought it used from a dealer and my xtended warrenty expired in Oct '04. Do I need to take it to the Dealer? What may be the cause? Where should I begin.

Take the car to your local Autozone or Pep Boys store, and they can do a free diagnosis of the check engine light error coding. Do this first before you walk into the dealership.

you may be able to get warr work still depending on the dealer and who the extended warr is with

when my oem one finished i had work done under warr for free by lexus
