Oxidation on rear spoiler

Recommended Posts

My guess is that there was a coating on it, so if you do use a headlight lens restoration kit, you may be able to use the liquid surface protectant, also. I don't know if a clay bar will do any good but certainly the surface should be very clean. Maybe some dishwashing liquid and water followed by a water rinse would clean it, well.

So I used the 3m headlight restoration kit.. HUGE fail and would not recommend or advise. It actually took off a layer of paint in one spot, quarter size or so. It made the spoiler smooth but it has the same blemishes. So not a fix.. I followed up with a black ceramic wax just to protect it now...

You might want to have an auto body shop paint and clearcoat it. That area of our RX does not look like paint. It looks more like polycarbonate or something similar.
