OEM vs. Aftermarket/Non-OEM Parts - Difference?

I have a 2003 Lexus SC430 w/92,000 miles. No warranty and not worried about re-sale value. I need work done and cost difference between Lexus dealer vs. other trusted mechanic is about $2000. I was told by Lexus that the difference was likely due to OEM vs. Aftermarket parts. Wondering if I should avoid Aftermarket parts or if they are basically the same as OEM. Will non-OEM last as long as OEM? Work required is attached. Thanks in advance for your help.

When it comes to spark plugs and gaskets, I would stick to OEM. And before buying other aftermarket replacement parts, check with some of the OEM Lexus parts websites like:

Also keep in mind that dealership labor rates will almost always be higher than those of an independent shop that has much less overhead.

I would skip the fuel injection service if your car is running well.
Suspension parts do wear out over time, so if you're planning to keep the car for many years, you do have time to find good prices for the parts. Personally, I would have the suspension work done by a trusted alignment shop. The other work can be done at a trusted independent shop.

Generally, spark plug tubes don't leak, but the round tube gaskets where they seal against the valve cover do. The valve cover gaskets are about $22 each, and the spark plug tube gaskets are around $3.60 each. So parts cost $44 ($22x2) and $28.80 (3.6x8). $72 + tax total, plus any other miscellaneous parts. Your dealer cost is practically all labor. So, if you have a trusted mechanic, I'd get the Lexus parts and have your mechanic do the work.  

Instead of relying on a dealer, there are other sources to get OEM Lexus/Toyota parts as @RX400hmentioned.
