mikeceli Posted July 23, 2022 Posted July 23, 2022 Hi So I am going to look at a 2005 GV470, that's for sale, cheap. Seller's daughter was the primary driver . Seller reports it started "putting oil in the coolant several weeks ago and overheating". Seller pulled heads but did not see any signs of head gasket failure. In his photos it appears cylinder head dropped a valve seat on one intake valve, causing valve to be stuck open. I'm thinking driver heated the heck out of the engine, Of course it could have a cracked head or block...But what else (other than engine) could cause oil in the coolant? I am thinking the engine oil cooler? I will report back after I view the project. Since some else did the teardown, I probably would have to drop in a used or reman engine. Thanks!

mikeceli Posted July 25, 2022 Author Posted July 25, 2022 Thank for the link, however I was looking for info on specific, known weak points, in the GX470 engine/cooling /lubrication systems.
