silvermate Posted May 20, 2004 Posted May 20, 2004 hey guys i saw a commercial on TV last night about a new car care product line from Dupont called Dupont Teflon products.... the line includes; wax, quik detailer, car wash, and others anyone used or have seen any of these products yet??
SW03ES Posted May 20, 2004 Posted May 20, 2004 I tend to stay away from any product that claims to have teflon in it. For one thing in order to provide a no-stick barrier teflon needs to be applied at over 600 degrees so a spray cleaning product that sports "Teflon" is little more than a marketing gimmick. That said some people at Autopia have tried them and said teflon aside they aren't bad.
silvermate Posted May 20, 2004 Author Posted May 20, 2004 interesting..... so is it a synthetic wax or......whats the base or make up of the product?
Matthew_McNally Posted May 20, 2004 Posted May 20, 2004 Steve, I have spoken directly to the managing director of a company in the UK who offer a similar product. The teflon is not used as a coating on the metal - that indeed is a ludicrous suggestion - but as a catalyst between some of the chemicals used in the product.
