mikeandd
I just bought a 1991 LS400 with 187,000 on the odometer. The rear shocks or struts seem a bit weak. Is the replacement something that can be done by a shade tree mechanic like me? Has anyone had experience with different brands of replacement shocks? Are Monroe SensaMatics any good for this application? I appreciate any insight you can give me. Thanks.
SW03ES
From what I've seen replacing the rear struts can be a somewhat involved job requiring the removal of the rear seats. Someone else who'se done it will chime in... Welcome!
tralhed
do you have air ride?that makes replacement a little easier.I assume since you mentioned aftermarket shocks that you have the spring type suspension.to replace the rear struts you do have to remove the rear seat.you will also need a spring compressor to diassemble the struts. mikeandd
Thanks for the reply. I do not have air suspension. Any suggestions on brand of replacement shocks other than OEMs?
