lisdak1134
Took for a drive before selling, to see what all works. Moonroof opened fine, closed, then went into tilt up position, and won't close now. Checked fuse (same as power windows/seats), those work fine. Checked the tracks for obstruction. Tried holding the key in the door in lock position. Windows rolled up and down, but nothing with moonroof. Tried to youtube, took the cover off the switch by the dome light, couldn't find anywhere to manually crank it down. Can hear a clicking in the switch when trying it, but nothing happens. Bad switch? Bad moonroof motor? Would the batter have anything to do with it? (needs new battery soon). Is there a way to manually close this year/model moonroof? No trouble shooting in manual. Thanks! RX400h
Could you have someone gently push down on the panel while you activate the switch? If it works, try repeating multiple times. Moonroofs tend to seize over years of non-usage. My daughter's 2002 Protege moonroof would not work at all after 10 years of non-use. And since I sold her car in 2018 for $1700, the new owner wasn't concerned.
lisdak1134
We did try that, but will try again. I think if we can just get it closed, whoever buys it won't care either bc it's so old. Thanks for responding!
