Hi everyone, new member to this forum and Lexus ownership. Browsed for this issue and didn't see anything - hope it's not a repeat for you (if it is, just point me in the right direction pls).

I recently purchased an '05 GX470, approx 125k miles, in overall excellent condition, except: the instrument cluster (gas, speedometer, tach) work intermittently. Sometimes all work, sometimes only 1-2 work, sometimes none. The issue occurs at crank - whatever is working/not working at cranking stays that way until car is stopped for some time, then we play "cluster roulette" on the next crank.

Thoughts?

It sounds like it could be a battery issue which is enough to start the engine but not enough maintain all systems until it generates a bit more stored energy.
A new battery would more than likely resolve it but also check the battery leads and in particular the security and condition of the earth straps

Now that's an angle I hadn't considered and much better/easier to check that a computer issue. Thanks!
