joemat Posted September 18, 2021 Posted September 18, 2021 My manual calls for hypoid gear oil API GL-5 above 0 degrees F SAE 90. Below O degrees F SAE 80W or SAE 80W-90. Thats for a 2007 IS 250 AWD. Lexus dealers are using 75W- 85 or 90. Was there change to the requirements for AWD Differentials?
RX400h Posted September 19, 2021 Posted September 19, 2021 Amsoil lists 75W-90 for all temps for your car. That's what I'd use as a preferred viscosity. That should cover the manual's specified viscosity without any issues.
